P. E.
First graders have been working on so many important skills in the Big Room. P.E. Station work included mat work where students practiced forward and backward crab walks, bear crawls, climbing, skipping, and galloping. At other stations, first graders developed foot/eye coordination playing soccer and kicking a soccer ball accurately toward a pin. Eye/hand coordination was on display when first grades tallied how many successful buckets they made when throwing dodgeballs into the basketball hoop. Sounds of joy and accomplishment were heard when each ball fell into the hoop! The feature game that was taught this fall was section soccer, which focused on both spatial awareness and soccer strategy.
