Music

Nursery began the school year with welcome songs including our Names Song, a call-and-response greeting game, and the West African song, “Funga Alafia”. We learned a Spanish song, “Don Alfredo Baila”, incorporating words for various parts of the body, and practiced isolating those parts in our dancing. We have used small drums and mallets to play simple rhythms, then incorporated them in full body movement.
