4th graders are practicing like crazy for their Winter Concert! They have many difficult songs prepared, from playing in a four-part xylophone ensemble, to singing a four-part vocal finale from a show, with orchestra. It takes all of their collective skills and concentration to pull off this music and every second of rehearsal counts. It has been exciting in the music room singing the news in Spanish to the myriad sound of Puerto Rican plena percussion. It has been challenging to memorize the many verses of an 18th century sea shanty from New Zealand. And it has been inspiring to sing the encouraging lyrics of living composers grappling with today’s world. We hope that you can share our excitement and hope by joining us at the Winter Concert on December 17!
