After an early fall of learning to read notes on the treble clef, to read rhythms off of flash cards, and to match pitch through singing games, third graders have begun to practice hard for their Winter Concert on December 11. The theme is American music from early folksongs to blues to present day local songwriters. If time allows they may be able to add accompaniment to their songs by playing xylophones, drums, melodicas, and ukuleles. The more we practice, the richer we sound. We plan to Shine On and hope that you are there on a dark winter’s eve to share the light!
