Congratulations to 5th grader, Jon Allen on his championship win at the Northwest Missouri Spelling Bee. Jon will get to compete in Washington, DC in May along with spellers from around the country in the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee! Way to represent Polo Jon!!
Congratulations to Jorja Ebert, Carrie Henderson, Owen Horner, Ryan Robison and Benjamin Wolf for being selected to earn their State FFA Degree in April at the Missouri State FFA Convention. These students had to have an Outstanding Supervised Agriculture Education Project as well as been an active member within the FFA organization. Students also were required to have community service and part of other organizations. Congratulations to these Polo FFA members.
Congratulations to Kinsey Heisey for being selected to the HYMAX academy this summer which will be held at the State FFA Leadership Camp in June. She is 1 of 100 Greenhand FFA members selected to this event to learn about advocating for agriculture.
Congratulations to Chloey Carr who has been chosen as the recipient of the Early Childhood Professions Student of the Quarter award at Grand River Technical School! Her excellent attendance, dedication to achieving academic excellence, hard work, great attitude, and improved communication are the reason she was selected! Way to represent Polo, Chloey!

Farm Management finished 5th and qualified for state! Team members Carrie Henderson, Owen Horner, Kathryn Farmer, and Payton Verschoor!
Agronomy qualified in 11th, taking the last spot to state. Team members were Harsh Patel, Lillian Misel, Kole Bartlett, and Brayden Fugate.
Dairy Foods competed and finished in 26th place. Members were Matt Fickess, Aiden Hankins, Tristan Stuerke, and Cash Rold.
Floriculture finished in 28th and members were Ben Wolf, Gracie Thompson, Ali Templeton, and Dani McKee.
Day 2 District Ag CDEs:
The Food Science team finished in 4th place and advances to state. Claire Simon, Lucky Harris, Keegan Howell and Carson Thompson were the team members. The Ag Mechanics team finished in 5th place and advances to state. Kyle Kipping was the 7th High Individual in the contest. Owen Horner, Ryan Robison and Drew Moore were the other team members. Dairy Cattle finished in 12th place and missed state by 2 spots. Team members were Khloe Lucassen, Reina Rucker, Ava Rome and Baylor Rechtermann.
Forestry finished in 16th place. Team members were Meredith Segar, Skyelar Beshears, and Lillian Misel.
Poultry finished in 20th place today with Witt Baldon, Sam Horner, Kyle Hunt and Walker Kelly as the team members today.
Entomology finished in 33rd place but was short handed today with only two members. They were Elly Norton and Melodi Stewart.
Seniors: In the HS Office on the counter is a print out of the Caldwell County Newspaper Bio forms that were emailed to you, please stop by and fill out. These must be completed by the end of the Senior Meeting on Monday, 4/13. Please be checking your emails regularly for the rest of the school year.
Prom: Juniors and Seniors attending Grand March, please come fill out a bio form for the announcements that evening. It is in the HS Office on the counter.
