Ryan Shepard

I am grateful to be a part of Rockmart and the Polk School District family. I was raised in Rockmart and am a 2003 graduate of Rockmart High School. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Kennesaw State University in 2009, a Master of Arts from Nova Southeastern University in 2012, and an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2016.

I began my career in education at Harpst Academy in Cedartown in 2009. From 2010 to 2016, I taught social studies at Cedartown Middle School, and from 2016 to 2018 I served CMS as an Assistant Principal. In 2018 I was given the opportunity to transfer back home, to Rockmart Middle School to serve as Assistant Principal. I am honored to be back home.

Rockmart has been home to my family for over 140 years. Through the generations, my family has served Rockmart and the surrounding communities of Aragon, Braswell, Yorkville, and VanWert and I look forward to doing the same. My children attend Rockmart Schools.

I want the best for our children, schools, and community. Together, we can work to ensure that students coming through our schools are ready for the next step in life. We can afford them opportunities and experiences that will ensure the community that we all love, continues to thrive.
