Welcome to Mrs.Mann's and Mrs. Amy's Kindergarten Class

About Me....

My name is Mrs. Rebecca Mann. I have been teaching for 24 years. I taught 1st grade for five years and this is my 19th year teaching kindergarten. I received my Bachelor of Science in Early Education from Jacksonville State University, my Master's Degree from Walden University, and my Educational Specialist Degree in Reading Literacy from Walden University.

I am married to Tommy Mann and we have two sons, Kevin Mann and Keith Mann. We have four precious grandchildren, Austin, Aaron, Annalese, and Daniel. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be able to educate your children. I am looking forward to an awesome year!

Philosophy of Education:

I believe my number one role, as an educator, is to love my students. My hope is that each day in some way I would show all my students that I love them and believe in them. I feel it is so important to build a relationship with each child who comes into my classroom and to earn their trust and respect. When a relationship has been built between the students and myself, they will soar academically. I believe in establishing a good relationship, not only with my students, but also with their parents. Parent teacher communication is key to the success of students. Parents are one of the most important resources in meeting the individual needs of each student.

I believe my second role as an educator is to encourage the lifelong learning of my students . Through hands-on activities, classroom discussion, and the use of humor, I hope to prompt students to think creatively and explore their natural curiosity. I work hard to make a positive environment where all students want to learn. It is my job to meet them where they are and move them forward.
