I am the RMS media specialist as well as teaching 8th grade gifted social studies. I sponsor the RMS BETA club. I am married and have two daughters. Megan Jane is a Junior at UNG and Jessica is a third-grade teacher in Bartow County.

The best teachers are those that never stop learning and continue striving to improve. It is important to realize that teaching is full of surprises and new situations and one must be ready to adapt, react and discover new strategies. What remains true, it is the necessity to create a meaningful learning environment and to understand how to relate one’s knowledge to students. My philosophy of teaching is based on a belief that learning needs to be student-centered and that students need to be equal partners in the learning process. My role involves using my expertise to put the necessary resources in the hands of the students or more likely to be sure that my students are well equipped to find and evaluate the resources they need to answer their questions.
