I was born in Alexander City, AL and shortly after moved to Montgomery, AL where I lived for almost 16 years. Then we moved to Southside, AL outside of Gadsden where I graduated from Southside High School in 1990. In January of 1990, I joined the Army National Guard and served for 6 years. I attended Gadsden State Community College before transferring to Jacksonville State University to pursue a degree in math education. In March of 1998, I joined the Gadsden Police Department as a 911 operator and police and fire dispatcher until December of 2002 when I moved to Rockamart and went back to JSU in January of 2003 and graduated with my Elementary Education Degree in December of 2004. January 2005, I started teaching at Euharlee Elementary before transferring to Cherokee Elementary in Cedartown where I taught 4th grade for 4 years and then Kindergarten for 4 years. I have now been at Rockmart Middle School for 10 years and I have taught 6th and 7th grade science before starting the Robotics program. The RMS Robotics Competition Teams were started in 2015 competing in the FIRST LEGO League and won 15 trophies over the next 7 years and sending at least 1 team every year to the Super Regional and sending 2 teams to the State competition at Georgia Tech in 2019. I have coached middle school and high school baseball and I am currently in the 4th year as head coach of the high school volleyball team.
