What is Work-Based Learning?
Work-Based Learning allows qualified students who have mastered skills in career pathway areas the opportunity to work in an approved job placement to gain valuable work experience while receiving course credit. A job placement may be arranged by the school's work-based learning coordinator, the career pathway teacher, or an approved part-time job arranged by the student. The goal of WBL is for a student job placement to related to the student's CTAE coursework or future career goal. Although not every student will have a job that will align with their coursework or career goal, ALL work experience gives students the opportunity to develop valuable employability skills such as- communication, time-management, problem solving, teamwork, leadership, professionalism and strong work-ethic.
