Currently on her third term as Division Chair, Analiza Liezl Perez-Amurao serves as Assistant Professor at the Humanities and Language Division of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) in Thailand, the country’s top university based on several university rankings. Dr. Perez-Amurao holds a PhD in Multicultural Studies from Mahidol University, Thailand, an MA in ELLT from Ateneo de Manila, Loyola Heights, Philippines, a PostGrad Dip in TESOL from the Regional English Language Centre- Singapore, and an AB-BSE in English from the Philippine Normal University, Manila, Philippines. An applied linguist and linguistic anthropologist, she has been recognized for her work in said fields earning her the 2020 Bonifacio P. Sibayan Professorial Chairholder in Applied Linguistics and getting her a role as a Regional Advisory Board Member for SOAS GLOCAL, University of London, UK. A multi-awarded international educator, she has received various forms of recognition such as the following: Bagong Bayani Award, Malacanang Palace, Manila; the Outstanding Working Mother Award, Mahidol University; Thailand Education Leadership Award, CMO Asia; the SEAMEO-Australia Press Award, SEAMEO-Bangkok and the Australian government; PNU’s Eminent Award for Outstanding Alumna, PNU, Manila; and Do More Awards with Move PH, among others. With several ELT and cultural studies projects in the pipeline, her upcoming book chapter with Routledge examines the privileging and essentializing employment protocols involving foreign teachers in the field of English language education within the pre- and during-pandemic contexts.

Dr. Renato U. Solidum, Jr. is the Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of the Philippines. He has worked with DOST for the past thirty-eight (38) years and rose from the ranks. He started his professional career at the DOST - Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) in 1984 after graduating with a BS in Geology degree from the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman in the same year.
He served at PHIVOLCS in varying capacities, starting as Science Research Specialist I and became its Director in 2003. He pursued his graduate studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA, earning a MS degree in Geological Sciences at the University of Illinois, Chicago, USA and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California San Diego (UCSD), obtaining a PhD degree in Earth Sciences.
Prior to his recent appointment as Secretary of DOST, Dr. Solidum served as an Undersecretary at the Department for six (6) years and assigned as concurrent Officer-In- Charge of PHIVOLCS. He was the Undersecretary for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change in 2017 and then Undersecretary for Scientific and Technical Services in October 2019, supervising agencies and offices in charge of science education and advocacy, disaster risk reduction and climate change, planning and evaluation and scientific and technological services.
He has also been designated as a Commissioner for UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines, from 2017- up to present. In recognition of his contributions to disaster risk reduction and government service, Dr. Solidum has been awarded the Presidential Citation for Public Service, the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award by the Civil Service Commission, the Professional of the Year in the field of Geology by the Professional Regulation Commission, the Excellence Award for Government Service by the Philippine Federation of Professional Associations and the Presidential Career Executive Service Award by the Career Executive Service Board.
