Koito's Discover Mobility Seminar

For August's “Discover Mobility” meetup event, Koito and Plug and Play Mobility had the pleasure of hosting Koito North American Lighting’s very own Assistant Director, Viren Merchant as a speaker.

Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Koito Manufacturing is the parent company of North American Lighting (NAL). In 40 years, NAL has grown to become the leading tier one supplier of automotive lighting systems in North America.

Viren applies his extensive knowledge in automotive electronics to manage and direct a group of cross-functional engineers. In this session, he dove into the history of Koito and North American Lighting, and he gave insights into the future of the automotive lighting industry and its various applications.

Viren Merchant is an expert in automotive electronics, with extensive experience in managing and directing cross-functional engineering teams. As the Assistant Director at Koito North American Lighting, Viren specializes in embedded hardware development, digital and analog electronics, and electronic system partitioning. 

His expertise also spans innovation and technology, supply chain management, customer quality and service, program management, and joint venture partnerships. With a focus on exterior lighting and autonomous vehicles, Viren plays a pivotal role in advancing technological innovations in the automotive industry.
