Unit 1: What opportunities and challenges do our places provide?

• An introduction to Geography through the lens of significant places, from local to global. 

• Focusing on the key geographical concepts of Place, Space, Scale, and how the physical environment interacts with the human environment in a variety of contexts.

• This unit also includes some map and graphical skills.

Unit 2: Can the World cope with 9 billion people?

• Key themes around population and urbanisation

• Includes changes to population, distribution, ways of managing population.

• Opportunities and challenges of megacities and sustainable cities.
