As of the 25th May 2014, Plymouth Citybus are pleased to announce the launch of its new service 11 from Plymouth City Centre to Okehampton, with additional services to Tavistock. Service 11 will run 7 days a week with 2 journeys on a Sunday, continuing onto Barnstable using service number 75B.
Service will now operate via Milehouse to Tavistock instead of Mutley Plain. Service will no longer serve Derriford Hospital (see service 42/42A/42B for alternative services). Timetable changes to reflect this change to route, plus additional journeys operating via Brentor to Okehampton.
To help meet the £50 million budget reduction required by Government spending cuts next year, we now face making savings of £1.7m from our annual public transport budget. It will be the first time that we have proposed making service reductions for four years. Most bus services in Devon are run commercially by bus companies at no cost to the Council. However, we spend £5.376m a year to support nearly 200 public bus services, carrying around 4.5m passengers every year. These services would not run without this support. We also manage the National Bus Pass Scheme for 175,000 pass holders in Devon. This costs us more than £9m every year. Efficiencies have already been achieved across the wider Transport Coordination Service to meet previous savings.
We would like to find out what you think about our proposals to reduce services. Please let us know what their impact might be on you. The proposals would start to come into effect during the second half of 2015.

Revise route and times to improve reliability
"South West Water will be working on one of the two inbound lanes on the roundabout at Woolwell 24 hours a day between Monday 20th Jan and Friday 6th March. Work cannot over run because another contractor will be going in straight after them. The work will close the lane closest to the bus stop by Woolwell Roundabout heading towards Plymouth and the bus stop is being relocated further back closer to the bottom of Woolwell Road but will be still be able to be served by all services 42C 104 105 as normal. However at peak times expect delays to traffic in this area as it filters earlier in to one lane - the 104/105 buses have been retimed to start 10 minutes earlier than usual from Monday 20th until further notice in the hope they can go through the affected earlier ahead of the 8am rush hour traffic"
School services resume - closed student services so not available for public use
