The Todd Memorial Scholarship consists of two scholarships: “The Dr. E.F. Todd Memorial Matriculation Prize” and “The Dr. E.F. Todd Memorial Science Prize”.
The Matriculation prize will constitute sixty percent (60%) of the total scholarship amount with the remaining forty percent (40%) to be awarded to the Science prize.
The scholarships will be awarded on the following basis:
1. The winner of the Dr. E.F. Todd Matriculation prize shall be the student graduating from High Schools under the jurisdiction of the Trustee, who has the best average in the preceding school year, of five (5) matriculation subjects, which, in any event, must be an average of at least seventy (70%). The subjects included are:
* English 30
* Mathematics 30 or 31
* Social Studies 30
* French 30
* Biology 30
* Physics 30
* Chemistry 30
2. The winner of the Dr. E.F. Todd Science prize shall be the student graduating from High Schools under the jurisdiction of the Trustee, who has the best average in the preceding school year for any three (3) of the following subjects:
* Mathematics 30 or 31
* Physics 30
* Chemistry 30
* Biology 30
This cash award is presented to the Grade 10 student who has made a major commitment to improve their work ethics and learn new techniques and skills. Mrs. Terry Remfert is the sponsor of this award.
Established: June 14th, 1984 by agreement between Scott Smith (Calgary) and Starland School Division.
Criteria:
To be awarded to the student from Delia School who has the best average in the preceding school year and plans to continue their education in one of the following programs of study:
1. Physical Education Program
2. If no student is continuing their education in “a”, then Secretarial Art Program.
3. If no student is continuing their education in “a or b”, then Computer Sciences Program.
The program of study shall be undertaken at any University, Technical Institute, Community College or Educational Consortium.
Amount of the Award:
Each year until the fund has been depleted an amount of $200 (consisting of capital and interest) shall be withdrawn from the investment to be made available as the prize.
Changes to the Terms and Conditions:
If no students should qualify for prizes in any year, the income shall be invested along with the remaining capital. A prize awarded in a subsequent year shall be awarded as set out above ($200).
This award is sponsored by Mrs. Joyce Brinkman who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson are the Great Grandparents of Ted and Ben Brinkman.
