Directors Note

I wish I could say that deciding what show I wanted to direct was an easy choice to make, however that was not the case. I knew I wanted to direct a drama, one that people could relate to and walk away from with a new lesson in their heart, but I was struggling to find the right one. When my theater director suggested Rabbit Hole, it was a show I was not familiar with, however once I finished reading it for the first time, I knew that it was something special.

Rabbit Hole is about grief and the journey that a family takes through its five stages. It isn't all sad moments, but it's not all happy moments either. Even through the loss of a loved one, life goes on. That is what I love about this show. It is true, it doesn't hide the fact that happy moments exist even after a great loss, but it also doesn't hide that even the simplest things become harder. The true nature of the show is what drew me to Rabbit Hole.

The work of David Lindsay-Abaire is truly remarkable in his creation of this story, a work that Variety describes as,  ̈an intensely emotional examination of grief, laced with wit, insightfulness, compassion and searing honesty. ̈ I have had an amazing time working with this company and I am truly proud of how well this show has come together with only 4 short weeks of rehearsals. I hope you enjoy this beautiful story of grief, family and hope.  ̈At some point it becomes bearable. It turns into something you can crawl out from under and carry around. ̈
