Students use both our History Alive curriculum and other non-fiction sources to study various ancient civilizations and modern cultures. Social studies lessons are composed of reading, learning note taking strategies, quizzes, interactive lessons, short-term and long-term projects and tests.
Students will complete two inquiry projects, one related to Ancient Egypt and the other relating to Ancient India. For Egypt, students will choose a topic and then three sub-topics and dig deep into researching, learning about, and sharing their learning on their topic. For India, students will work in a group answering a provided question and will work to answer the question based on how things were during three different time periods.

Students will complete an Ancient China brochure on a topic of their choosing from a provided list.
Students will create a travel brochure and presentation on why travelers should visit Athens during the Golden Age.
