This unit takes the same standards students focused on during units 1 and 2, but has the students apply the skills to a non-fiction text. Students will primarily focus on citing evidence (RI.6.1), summarizing a text and finding a central idea (RI.6.2) and evaluating the author's purpose (RI.6.6). During this unit, students will write an informational paper and present their findings through an action panel.
