The Pleasant View Fire Department was established in 1948 as part of the Metropolitan District. Our district covers central unincorporated Jefferson County as well as a western portion of the City of Lakewood. The District covers roughly 2.5 square miles.
We are a combination Fire Department consisting of sevon paid staff and 40 volunteers. While our district is small, we have a lot of pride in our organization.
The Pleasant View Fire Department is a single station which houses two Engines (Engine 41, Engine 42), a 75′ Aerial Truck (Truck 41), and a Brush Truck (Brush 41).
EMS
Pleasant View Fire Department prides itself on providing superior emergency medical care to our citizens. All members of the department are trained in basic life saving skills such as CPR/AED, first aid, and basic life support. Many of our members, including all supervisors are state certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and can provide a higher level of care including airway management, intravenous therapy, and medication administration. All of our apparatus carry a full compliment of medical equipment including Automated External Defibrillators (AED).
Our EMTs operate under the oversight of Exempla Lutheran Hospital and the Denver Metro EMT Protocols. Exempla also provides ongoing training to our members each month though accredited curriculum.
Ambulance service is provided my American Medical Response (AMR). AMR provides two dedicated ambulances to the Golden area with backfill from the Denver area. AMR ambulances are staffed with a Paramedic and an EMT and carry a full complement of state of the art life saving equipment.
When a call for help is made, Pleasant View fire crews respond first with an average response time of less than three minutes. Once on scene, crews will assess the patient and initiate appropriate treatment and gather important information. When the ambulance arrives, fire personnel work closely with ambulance personnel to provide a seamless patient care experience.
