Biome Webquest/Habitat Adventure
We are going on an adventure to a special biome or habitat. We will learn as much as possible about this biome and the life within it. We will be hunting through the WorldWideWeb.
You have SIX TASKS to complete.

DAY 1. Get to Know Your Biome.
1. Click on your assigned biome link. Spend time reading the pages and learn about your biome. When done, write on your biome fact sheet. Define your biome. Be Specific.
2. Write about the location of your biome, where in the world it is located. Write about the climate of your biome.
3. Find a picture of your biome. Draw or print one from home. Include it in your report.
DAY 2. Learn About Plants in Your Biome.
1. Go back to your biome link above. Read about plants.
2. Think about these questions. How have the plants adapted to life in your biome? What plants live in your biome?
3. Take out our fact sheet and start answering the questions. Find a picture of a plant in your biome. Include it in your report.
DAY 3. Animals in Your Biome.
1. Go back to your biome link above. Read about the many animals in your biome. When done, pick an animal and write down information on your fact sheet.
2. Answer questions about your animal.
3. Find a picture of your animal and include it with your report. Draw or print at home.
DAY 4. Write an Informational Essay About Your Biome.
Using your biome packet containing your research and notes, write a five-paragraph informational essay. Use below as your guide to writing your informational essay.
Part 1: Introduction. Remember to start with a question, quote, sound, vivid description.
Part 2: Type of climate and environment the biome has. You may also include where it is located, special and interesting facts about the biome, etc.
Part 3: Animals in that biome and explain their adaptations.
Part 4: Plants in that biome and explain its adaptations.
Part 5: Conclusion. Remember to end with a hope, a feeling, or a wish. You can also end with a memorable ending such as: "Now I know..., The next time I..., I will never forget..., I really learned that..., As you can see..."
Remember, you may also include maps, pictures, charts or graphs throughout your essay.
DAY 5: Create a Prezi About Your Biome.
Your biome has many unique and interesting features. You will create a Prezi and share your biome in a Prezi presentation which will also count as your speech.
Task 6: Present your Biome. You will present your biome to the class in an oral presentation (speech) by showing your Prezi.
