WE MADE IT TO WINTER BREAK 2018!

It's hard to believe we are half-way through the year, but here we are! Students, you have worked hard all semester long and now deserve to have some serious fun. Enjoy your break. No matter what is in store for the next two weeks, enjoy every moment. And don't forget to READ -- it will take you to places you never imagined and back in time for supper. Thank you for being YOU. You all make coming to work a joy!

Happy Everything!

Mrs. Blae and PM Block during the last week of first semester. Good luck, Mrs. Blae, on your next student teaching assignment! *Remember, we were your first class. :-)

Parents,

Please read the letter from the district office about assessments provided in the link below:

MUSEUM ON MAIN: Exploring Lives of Migrant Workers

As we read a story about Victor, the son of a migrant worker in "Seventh Grade" by Gary Soto, we have the opportunity to take a closer look at the lives of real migrant workers who pick our food in the fields throughout California. This exhibit showcases a collection of images by David Bacon, a photojournalist, with oral narratives about the people he photographed. The exhibit runs through October 14th. Here is the article from the Pleasanton Weekly: https://www.pleasantonweekly.com/news/2018/08/19/pleasanton-exhibit-explores-lives-of-migrant-workers

If you choose to visit the museum, please write a paragraph about your experience (typed) and turn it in with a parent signature confirming that you went to the exhibit. In your paragraph, describe your favorite photograph and why it was your favorite. *

*Students who submit a typed paragraph with parent signature will receive 2 bonus points on an assignment of their choosing, to be determined by the end of the quarter.

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!

Get Ready for a GREAT Year!

Welcome back to school and to 7th Grade ELA!

I am Mrs. Comstock and we'll get to meet soon enough. In the meantime, if you've found this site before the first day of school, I hope you're enjoying the last few days of summer. When we meet, we'll go over everything you'll need to know to help make this a great year -- but more importantly, I'll get to know what I need to know about YOU to help you make 7th grade the BEST YEAR YET.

Before you leave, bookmark this website because it's where you'll find your homework and other important news and announcements. This site is OUR site and it will grow and change as we build our classroom community.

I cannot wait to meet you on the first day of school!

All my best,

Mrs. Comstock
