Class Website: Our class website is primarily updated at the start of each school year. It provides both parents and students with a comprehensive overview of the year's opportunities and expectations. While it may not be frequently updated throughout the year, it remains a valuable reference point.

Google Classroom: For ongoing and regular updates, please refer to our Google Classroom. This platform is consistently updated with important information, assignments, resources, and more. It serves as the main hub for real-time classroom communications and materials.

Welcome to Ms. Longnecker's Class!

I’m super excited to be your teacher this year. Teaching is my passion, both inside and outside the classroom, and I can't wait to share this journey with you.

This summer was amazing! I explored new, uncharted lands and got loads of inspiration to bring fresh ideas to our class. Plus, I had an awesome experience at the Pepperdine Conference with the CASET team.

A bit about me: I graduated from the University of the Pacific's School of International Studies, focusing on Middle Eastern Studies, and earned my teaching credentials at CSU, Stanislaus. I’m all about traveling and meeting people from around the world. I’ve studied in Spain and Thailand and traveled throughout Europe.

In our class, it’s not just about memorizing facts but students will learn these facts. We will dive into analyzing data, thinking critically, and tackling both big and small questions. We’ll explore history using primary & secondary sources.  Grading is standard-based so parents/students will always know learning status.

As a mom of five (with two still at home), I totally get how important it is to make learning fun and engaging—especially history! We’re going to have a fantastic year together, full of learning and discovery.

Must-Have Supplies for My Class:

• 70 page spiral notebook (just for my class, not a 5-subject notebook)

• Plastic folder for handouts

• Black/blue pen
