This announcement is a PARODY and is not an actual event, competition, tournament, literary cage match, or officially sanctioned confrontation between librarians and authors.

There will be NO AUTHOR SLAM.

There will be NO LIBRARIAN VS. AUTHOR COMPETITION.

There will be NO ARENA.

There will be NO CHAMPIONSHIP BELT.

There will be NO OFFICIAL LITERARY GOVERNING BODY overseeing the imaginary proceedings.

Any resemblance to an actual planned event is purely coincidental and should not be interpreted as evidence that librarians and authors are preparing to settle their professional differences through competitive combat, trivia, literary challenges, interpretive dance, or any other questionable means.

The public is therefore instructed to remain calm, return all borrowed materials on time, and DO NOT SHOW UP AT THE LIBRARY EXPECTING TO WITNESS AN AUTHOR-LIBRARIAN SHOWDOWN.
