WE learn
while we play!!
Welcome to PLAY
If you ask parents and teachers what they love about PLAY, the answer is usually the same: they love that it feels like a second-home.
With only 64 spaces in total, PLAY is an intimate childcare program which contributes to the family-feel. But, it’s the people who make it a home. Parents and teachers alike are focused on creating a vibrant community in which to raise children.
Other reasons to choose PLAY include:
Large indoor classrooms with almost double the required space per child
Access to an indoor gym for gross motor learning
Attached, natural playground space
Walking distance to many Kensington area features including Riley Park and the Peace Bridge
Catered breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack included in the price of tuition
Convenient, free parking for pick up and drop off
Centre-wide events for children and families throughout the year
We would love to connect with you and your family to share more about PLAY. If you are looking for high-quality child care in the Kensington area, we hope we are exactly what you’re looking for.
Parent Testimonials
"My family loves PLAY! My older son started at 3 and my younger has been there since he was 1. Both kids run in the door each morning and come home with great stories to tell. The teachers are wonderful, they have great activities, and quality food. The parent engagement and community atmosphere really makes PLAY stand out. I love the family events and knowing my kids' friends and the other parents."
“PLAY gives off a family atmosphere. The centre is in a dated church, but that’s about the only thing going against it. My kids don’t cry when I drop them off, but instead when I pick them up - they just want to stay!” ~ M (parent of two)
“I have two kids at PLAY and highly recommend it! Both kids run in the door each morning and come home with great stories to tell. The teachers are wonderful, they have great activities, and quality food. We were at a kids and company prior to moving to this neighbourhood and are much happier at PLAY.”
"Our two children attended PLAY for years. The staff is very caring and engaged with them. I was always impressed with the programming at all levels but especially how the preschool curriculum units were integrated across all the activities. As a parent-run non-profit daycare, there is a great community feeling among the families. Our family made some great friends and we really enjoyed our time at PLAY."
"We have two children (2 1/2 and 4 1/2) that have been enrolled in the PLAY program for about 2 years. Our experiences with the staff and program have been very positive. The PLAY team does a fantastic job exposing the children to new and interesting learning opportunities and a variety of arts/crafts activities. Nutrition has been an important consideration for us; the transparency around meal planning is excellent. Meal plans are frequently shared by PLAY and the caterer, and the opportunity to purchase/sample the meals is also extended to families. The staff are very caring and we know our boys are in good hands. Overall, PLAY offers a great program and great value."
