Happy October, Everyone!
-CUIC is closing. Gainsco is offering large discounts and commission overrides. Rhino said to have anyone reach out to him that is interested.
-New Utah rule-Comprehensive-Only Policies are Ineligible for Registered Vehicles: The Utah State Tax Commission has determined that due to the language change, a comprehensive-only insurance policy is no longer sufficient to satisfy the financial responsibility requirement for any vehicle registered in Utah. The new language explicitly links the requirement for owners' or operators' security to the act of a vehicle being "registered within the state." As a comprehensive-only policy does not provide the required liability coverage, it is not considered "owner's or operator's security" under this law.
-Please continue to give us feedback on our dashboard and correct anything we have wrong on it. We have a handful of agents that do this, and it is extremely helpful for the group as a whole.
-New carriers coming- Steadily, Lemonade, possibly Agaria and Farmers Union.
- Competitive options for homes: Homeowners of America (Great with Progressive and Geico).
📋Carrier Updates
Progressive- We are pushing it again with properly underwriting. Please make sure to continue to put all accurate info in from your first quote.
You should be able to get geico now, no problem. The few people that are still held up just keep emailing gos@geico.com
A few things to keep in mind when selling Geico are that they do not have a way to transfer policies yet, and until they get this figured out, I would not push for it but just sell as needed. It is, of course, better to get the business than not, but in the case of a sale, you can't move the policies as of now.
Branch is getting more competitive. Make sure to quote them and use all of there discounts.
We went to a Travelers Key agent meeting and got a lot of good information on things to come. It sounds like business will be really opening up in 2026. As well as a lot of states that we can't write non-resident business in will open up in the next few months. They really want us to key on selling the IntelliDrive feature. They also want to make sure everyone utilizes their agent playbook. This is a great tool that actually lets you send marketing emails from right inside of it. If you have not already I would defiantly check it out.
Selling with Hartford should be extremely competitive. Do not be afraid if your rates are high to use some credit to get the policy down. In some cases we have seen them come down 35%. Reach out to Micah on these and he can help!
