• 1x Aluminium cube (200g or fits in the beaker)
• 1x Water bath set at known temperature (thermometer)
• 1x cooking oil or salter water or anything thats available
• 1x beakers (to fit the cubes)
• 1x thermometers
• 1x tonges to handle metal block
• 1x balance

Practical :

Students will work out the specific heat capacity of the liquid that the aluminium is placed in. With the aluminium block at thermal equalibrium in the water bath, it is then dropped into the unknown liquid. When thermal equilibium is reached the following calculations can determin the SHC of the liquid.
