Demo 1 - dissapearing test tube :

  • Beaker
  • test tube
  • baby oil or vegetable oil.

Demo 2 - being of laser:

  • Laser
  • Water tank
  • sugar gradient (laying sugar cubes on botten night before)


Practical : 10x

  • 1x Light boxes
  • 1x single slit
  • 1x Perspex blocks
  • 1x Glass blocks
  • 1x water
  • Protractors
  • A4 paper for all

Risk assessment:

  • Mindful of where the laser is shining
  • Light boxes get hot.


Target:

• Describe what happens when light is refracted

• Describe features of the image formed by a lens

• Record some observations as a diagram with help
