Welcome to Mrs. Mitchell's Website

I am excited to begin the 2020-21 school year at Plains Junior High and High School. I look forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new ones. Here you will find information about the classes including events, homework, and class announcements.

Teaching your child is a tremendous responsibility and I will do my best to ensure that each student has a safe and motivating learning experience in this upcoming year. However I cannot do this without the help of you, the parents. We are partners in the learning process.

I believe it is very important to communicate between home and school and will do my best to keep you informed. Should you have any questions, comments or concerns at anytime throughout the year, please contact me at the school at (406) 826-8600 or via email at kati.mitchell@plainsschools.net.

Yours truly,

Kati Mitchell

I am originally form Port Angeles, WA. This was the town that I was born and raised in most of my life. I graduated from Port Angeles High School in 2005.

After high school, I attended Eastern Washington University-Cheney, WA. Which is where I received my Bachelors in Education in 2010.

Between 2010 and 2013, I worked as a bank teller at a local credit union in Port Angeles. After a year, I moved to Moses Lake, WA to be a substitute teacher and be closer to my husband, who is a shop teacher. In 2013, we moved to Montana to start my teaching career as an Elementary teacher and to settle down somewhere together.

My very first teaching job was at Thompson Fall Elementary, I taught 8th grade Montana History, 5th grade reading and writing. For the second year, I taught 6th grade math, 5th grade reading and writing. For my last two years at Thompson Falls I got to teach my very own class of 6th graders.

The past three years, I moved to Plains High School, to teach high school business, computer apps, accounting/multimedia, keyboarding and yearbook. This was closer to our new house that we purchased. I didn’t think I would do well with high school level students, but it is a blast.

We now have a place of our own with lots of animals on our acreage and our one year old son Grayson, located right next to the Clark Fork River. It is our little piece of heaven.
