The Placitas Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PES-PTO) is a non-profit group of dedicated volunteers with a passion for helping the students, teachers, and families of our K-5 "A-Rated" public school. We provide help through fundraising, communications, event planning, enrichment support, community building, and advocacy for the needs of our school.
Unlike a PTA, a national organization with units at various schools, a PTO is a stand-alone group. Like a PTA, we have annual elections and strong accounting checks & balances; but we have by-laws that make sense for Placitas, as opposed to following “one size fits all” by-laws set by a national organization far removed from the needs of our particular school. Our most recent approved bylaws are accessible on the "Meeting Minutes" page.
By fostering a collaborative environment with all stakeholders, including teachers, staff, and parents, our school can have the greatest positive impact on our children, our community, and each other. Please join us at one our monthly meetings to learn more!
