• Any individual who is interested in participating in Guitar Club should come to the main office directly after school on Wednesday October 8th to meet Mr. Marr and Mr. Wright.  All skill levels are welcome!

• ATTENTION SOPHOMORE & JUNIORS: On TOMORROW October 7th at 9 AM, all students who registered for the PSAT exam will be called down to the cafeteria for a pre-registration session. Please bring your chromebook with you.  Reminder, the deadline to register for the PSAT is TODAY! The exam will be offered at Port Jervis High School on Wednesday, October 15th at 8 AM. 

• Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Soccer team on their 3-2 win over Seward on Saturday. Scoring for Port was Marlee Prespare on a penalty kick and Lia Fox with two goals. Mia Leeper had two assists. Peyton Brown had 11 saves in goal. 

  • Come out and support the team today as they take on Liberty at 4:30 PM on Chase. Not only is it a league game but our last matchup with them was a 0-0 tie in overtime.

ATTENTION SENIORS: 

• Please sign up for the fall trip in Miss Gibson's room 131 by September 19th. The trip will be Monday October 27, 2025 from 5-9 pm at The Castle in Chester. It will cost approximately $65 depending on how many buses we need. The cost includes transportation to and from the event, a BBQ , mini-golf, go karts, zipline, laser tag, roller skating, rockwall, arcade (no prizes but unlimited play), and bowling. There will be another post with the exact price and times at the end of September. 

ATTENTION JUNIORS & SENIORS: 

• Anyone wishing to join Youth in Government should stop by the library to speak to Mrs. Perkowski. Our first Convention is in Minisink on 10/17 and information about that has been posted in the YIG Google Classroom.

ATTENTION SOPHOMORE & JUNIORS:

• The PSAT exam will be offered at Port Jervis High School on Wednesday, October 15th at 8 AM. This test is of no cost for sophomores and juniors.  Please complete the following registration form by October 3rd to register for the PSAT. https://forms.gle/pz6LcsxQLAAsUgHa7

• ATTENTION SOPHOMORES: SPIRIT WEEK PREP is underway. Help is needed to make posters and decorations. We will be meeting in room 200 after school. BRING YOUR IDEAS & CREATIVITY!!! Bus passes are available. Check in 2028 Google Classroom for your Google calendar invite reminders.

ATTENTION FRESHMEN: 

• Please remember to stop by room 206 at some point to sign up for the different after school events during spirit week!!  We also desperately need volunteers to help making decorations after school starting Monday in room 206. We also need volunteers to help us hang up all of our decorations on Thursday (10/9) night from 4-8.

ADDITIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

• The GSA (LGBTQIA+) club will be meeting on Wednesday October 8th after school in the guidance conference room.  All are welcome!

• Grades 9-12 Boys Intramural basketball will begin this Sunday October 5th from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at the East Main Street Elementary School gym and will continue every Sunday until November 16th. You can show up anytime from 5:30 to 6:00 and games go from 6:00 to 8. Port high school students only. Enter through the playground side of the gym

• Spirit Week Gaming Tournaments Super Smash Bros teams will be joined this year by a Mario Kart Racing Team!  Signup your 4 driver team with your class advisors. Students CANNOT compete in both games. For game questions, email Mr. Felix -  jfelix@pjschools.org

• The HS is once again participating in welcoming back the Hudson Valley Honor Flight on Saturday evening, October 18th, at Stewart Airport in Newburgh. Here is the sign-up form for the Hudson Valley Honor Flight Trip. If you plan to attend, please download and print, or pick up, a permission slip from the HS main office. Have your parent/guardian sign it, and return it to the main office by Tuesday, October 14th. Please report to the HS between 6:30 and 6:40. The bus will leave at 6:45.  The expected time back to the HS is approx 10:00, but it will depend on the flight schedule.

• The Port Jervis Youth Coalition (PJYC) will meet on Wednesday, October 1st at 2:25 pm in room 118.  NEW MEMBERS ARE WELCOME!!!  Our goals involve helping to reduce substance use and to improve student mental health and wellbeing.  Please join us!  Any questions see Mrs. Grismer (guidance) or Ms. Antalek.

• VEX Robotics will meet Mondays and Tuesdays in room 101 at 2:25 till 3:35. New members are welcome, see Mr. Hyziak with any questions.

• Come join the Science Olympiad team!  We meet in room 210 on Wednesdays.   20 events.  Claim your event or events now!  Bring your crew.   See Mr. Koenig for more information

• ADAC Journaling will be held on October 15th. All high school students are welcome! Journals, pens, journaling supplies, snacks & bottled water will be provided.
