• TODAY:

  • Raider Readiness! Today during lunch periods 6, 7, & 8 regarding the blood drive on 11/3.

  • Congratulations to the Varsity VB team, improving their record to 11-4 over a 3 set win versus Tuxedo. Join the ladies tonight in honoring the following seniors: Madison Balmos, Molly Koenig, Emma Maley, Reagan Myers, Ali Oosterom, Lexi Tufano and Meghan Williams. as they take on Goshen home tonight at 6:00 pm for the last regular season game of the season.

  • Hot Fresh Popped Popcorn will be available to buy from SADD at the Club Expo on Friday during lunches. Bags will be 2 for $1!!!

  • Cooking Club: Signups are beginning this week. The sign up sheet is outside of room 103. Please sign up during your guided learning or lunch. Have any questions? Contact the club president Mikaela M., vice president Karlee Acevedo or Mrs. Coalla via email. A google classroom will be created. 

  • Seniors, do you want to apply to college for FREE?  SUNY is waiving application fees for applications submitted by Sunday November 6th. PJHS Counselors are offering application workshops after school today and  will start promptly at 2:15 to 3:00pm in the Guidance Office to help you start, complete and/or submit your college applications. Please bring your chromebook and be sure to have previewed the video tutorials on the Senior Guidance Google Classroom.

  • Club Expo: Are you interested in joining a club or helping with an activity? Various clubs will be hosting a table outside the auditorium this week. Thursday 10/27 (A-day): Art, Cooking & PJYC

  • Ski & Snowboard club sign-ups are now taking place. See Mr. Kowal. He will be available in room 113 today for sign-ups immediately after school.

  • If you make an appointment and donate blood, your name will be entered to win a $30 gift card to Walmart and some candy. Stop by the main office for a permission slip. 

• BLOOD DRIVE: The Student Council is hosting the annual blood drive November 3rd from 8-12. You must sign up online for an appointment and have the signed permission forms the day of the drive. If you do not have the permission forms signed, you cannot donate. Students who are 16 year old need both permission forms signed. Students who are 17 &18 need the high school blood drive permission forms. Please bring permission forms to the main office. You will receive two hours of community service for donating. 

• The Class of 2026 is running a Krispy Kreme sale until Thursday, November 10. Please see a freshman for more information.

• Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors: What is the ASVAB? The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students. Please complete the form on the guidance Google Classroom if you are interested in taking the ASVAB exam on Saturday, November 5th at 8 AM at Port Jervis High School.

• Family ID is now open to register for Winter Sports 

• The indoor track sign-up sheet is posted in room 109. Speak to Coach Wright if you have any questions.

• PJHS PTSA Spiritwear Fundraiser pickup will be in front of the PJHS Auditorium on Friday 10/28 11:30am - 4pm and at Glenette Field 6:30pm-7:30pm. Questions?email hsptsa@pjschools.org    Thank you for your support!

• VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:  Little League Clean-up Day at the Little League Field in West End, Saturday, Nov 5th, 10AM, Nov 6 (rain date)

• It is back at the DECA School Store,  Pizza Thursday  $2.50 per slice.

• BOYS BASKETBALL INTRAMURALS: Wednesdays and Thursdays through November, high school boy’s basketball open gyms. Located at the ASK gym. Doors open at 6pm and end at 8pm. Random teams selected, all high school boys invited.

• Chess Club is back! Whether an experienced competitor or brand new to the game, all are welcome to join Chess Club. Meetings are after school every Wednesday in room 311

• The CHARACTER TRAIT of the Month for October is MINDFULNESS: Please wear PURPLE on Wednesdays to represent MINDFULNESS. Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations.  Mindfulness isn’t difficult, we just need to remember to do it.  -Sharon Salzberg

• Attention faculty, staff, and students: Ready your sweet tooth! The annual Gertrude Hawk Holiday Fundraiser is imminent! Be sure to see a Junior about the delicious chocolates that will be delivered to you in time for the holidays!

• ATTENTION ALL SENIORS:  Senior Siblings, Friends Then & Now, and Baby Pictures are all DUE 11/18/22. Parent Ads are DUE 12/23/22.  All pictures and Ads can be handed into Mrs. Van Horn in room 104 or the front office.

• SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY:

Applications are now open for Sobo & Sobo’s Annual Scholarship Contest (2022-2023)!  Applicants are invited to visit Sobolaw.com/Scholarship for more further instructions and details about the scholarship contest, or email the Sobo Scholarship Committee at scholarship@sobolaw.com with any questions or concerns. 

• Do you want a quiet place to eat your lunch? The following rooms are available for students to go to during their lunch period. Period 6-room 131, period 7-guidance conference & period 8 room 103.

• DECA School Store Open!!! Come down and check us out!  Hours;  Right after school Mon - Friday 2:15 to 3:30.  See you there!!!

• Any student who will be driving to school needs to come to the AP's office and pick up an application for a parking permit.  If you have previously received one you do not need to apply for a new one.  Please make sure to display your permit in the bottom of your back window on the driver side.  Stop by the Assistant Principal's office and see Mrs. Sauschuck for an application.
