• TODAY:

  • The Varsity Club is looking for members.  If you have earned a varsity letter in any sport, are in grades 9 through 12 and would be interested in being a Varsity Club Member, please attend a meeting on Wednesday, October 26th at 2:15 p.m. in the All-States Gym.   Mr. Holyk will be explaining what our Varsity Club members do and asking for nominations for Varsity Club Officers.

  • Seniors, do you want to apply to college?  This week is the beginning of FREE SUNY Applications!  SUNY is offering to waive application processing fees as long as you submit your application by Sunday November 6th. PJHS Counselors are offering application workshops after school this Wednesday and Thursday to help you start, complete and/or submit your college applications. Workshops will be held in the Guidance Office and will start promptly at 2:15 pm, ending at 3:00 pm.  Please bring your chromebook and be sure to have previewed the video tutorials on the Senior Guidance Google Classroom.

  • The library will be closed today periods 1 and 5

  • The Class of 2026 will be hosting a Krispy Kreme sale starting Wednesday, October 26 until Thursday, November 10. Orders will be dropped off on Wednesday, November 15. Please see a freshman if you are interested in placing an order. Thank you!

  • Mmmmm! Gertrude Hawk chocolates sure are delicious! If you’d like these yummy treats either as a gift or to treat yourself, ask a Junior about ordering Gertrude Hawk chocolates today!

  • It is back at the DECA School Store,

• Mock Trial season is upon us! If you are interested in the law, debating, or public speaking, you should join the PJHS Mock Trial team! Our first meeting is today after school in room 311. See Mr Dunleavy or Mrs West-Barnes for details.

• Seniors are the only students who may dress up for Halloween.

• Reminder to ALL–the Countywide Voting is being held in the rubber gym until 9 pm.  Please be mindful of your noise level and your actions to our guests.

• Club Expo: Are you interested in joining a club or helping with an activity? Various clubs will be hosting a table outside the auditorium this week. Tuesday 10/25 (A-day): Gaming, Interact, Vex Robotics, Youth in Govt.  Stop by each table for more information during your lunch period 6, 7, or 8.

• JV Volleyball practice for today is canceled. 

• Ski & Snowboard club sign-ups are now taking place. See Mr. Kowal. He is located in rooms 112, 113 & 114 for a good part of the day. He will also be available in room 113 this week Wednesday and Thursday for sign-ups immediately after school.

• The SCIENCE OLYMPIAD TEAM meets on Tuesdays in Room 210. Come claim your event or events! First come, first serve. See the list of events on posters in the hallways. Events cover life science, chemistry, earth science, environmental science, physics and engineering. See Mr. Koenig for more details.

• Juniors and seniors--the SAT exam is being offered at Port Jervis High School on Saturday, November 5th.  The late registration deadline is TODAY, Tuesday, October 25th.  Register at www.collegeboard.org Fee waivers are available in the guidance office if you are eligible.

• TOMORROW:

  • Chess Club is back! Whether an experienced competitor or brand new to the game, all are welcome to join Chess Club. Meetings are after school every Wednesday in room 311

• BLOOD DRIVE: The Student Council is hosting the annual blood drive November 3rd from 8-12. You must sign up online for an appointment and have the signed permission forms the day of the drive. If you do not have the permission forms signed, you cannot donate. Students who are 16 year old need both permission forms signed. Students who are 17 &18 need the high school blood drive permission forms. Please bring permission forms to the main office. You will receive two hours of community service for donating.

• Family ID is now open to register for Winter Sports 

• The indoor track sign-up sheet is posted in room 109. Speak to Coach Wright if you have any questions.

• PJHS PTSA Spiritwear Fundraiser pickup will be in front of the PJHS Auditorium on Friday 10/28 11:30am - 4pm and at Glenette Field 6:30pm-7:30pm. Questions?email hsptsa@pjschools.org    Thank you for your support!

• Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors:   What is the ASVAB? The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students.  Please complete the form on the guidance Google Classroom if you are interested in taking the ASVAB exam on Saturday, November 5th at 8 AM at Port Jervis High School.

• VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:  Little League Clean-up Day at the Little League Field in West End, Saturday, Nov 5th, 10AM, Nov 6 (rain date)

• BOYS BASKETBALL INTRAMURALS: Wednesdays and Thursdays through November, high school boy’s basketball open gyms. Located at the ASK gym. Doors open at 6pm and end at 8pm. Random teams selected, all high school boys invited.

• The CHARACTER TRAIT of the Month for October is MINDFULNESS: Please wear PURPLE on Wednesdays to represent MINDFULNESS. Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations.

• Attention faculty, staff, and students: Ready your sweet tooth! The annual Gertrude Hawk Holiday Fundraiser is imminent! Be sure to see a Junior about the delicious chocolates that will be delivered to you in time for the holidays!

• ATTENTION ALL SENIORS:  Senior Siblings, Friends Then & Now, and Baby Pictures are all DUE 11/18/22. Parent Ads are DUE 12/23/22.  All pictures and Ads can be handed into Mrs. Van Horn in room 104 or the front office.

• SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY:

Applications are now open for Sobo & Sobo’s Annual Scholarship Contest (2022-2023)!  Applicants are invited to visit Sobolaw.com/Scholarship for more further instructions and details about the scholarship contest, or email the Sobo Scholarship Committee at scholarship@sobolaw.com with any questions or concerns. 

• Do you want a quiet place to eat your lunch? The following rooms are available for students to go to during their lunch period. Period 6-room 131, period 7-guidance conference & period 8 room 103.

• DECA School Store Open!!! Come down and check us out!  Hours;  Right after school Mon - Friday 2:15 to 3:30.  See you there!!!

• Any student who will be driving to school needs to come to the AP's office and pick up an application for a parking permit.  If you have previously received one you do not need to apply for a new one.  Please make sure to display your permit in the bottom of your back window on the driver side.  Stop by the Assistant Principal's office and see Mrs. Sauschuck for an application.
