• What is Red Ribbon Week?

• Enrique "Kiki" Camarena was a Drug Enforcement Administration Agent who was tortured and killed in Mexico in 1985.  In honor of Kiki's memory and his battle against illegal drugs, friends and neighbors began to wear red ribbons.  Parents then began to form coalitions embracing his belief that one person can make a difference. These coalitions adopted the symbol of Camarena's memory, the Red Ribbon. Today, the Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.   This year’s theme, Life Is A Movie, Film Drug Free is a call to action to speak out in support of healthy choices.  It also serves as a reminder that we are all empowered to help our school community live our best, drug free lives.  Stop by the Port Jervis Youth Coalition and SADD tables during lunch Wednesday to sign our drug free pledge and pick up some information about living your healthiest life.

Tues (10/22)

• 5:30 Varsity Boys Soccer vs Liberty (Chase Field)

• A lunchtime popcorn sale sponsored by the SADD Club will be TOMORROW Wednesday, October 23 in support of the county wide Red Ribbon Week. $1 per bag with all proceeds to benefit the Class of 2025 Senior Big Prize Giveaway Graduation Party.   SADD Contracts for Life will also be available for all students to take home, discuss with their family, and return to school.

• Seniors! The Halloween parade is ON! Thursday, October 31st, period 10. Please check your email, the Senior Activity Google Classroom, REMIND, or the Class social media pages for more information. PM CTech Seniors, please get your Z day passes in early if you plan to participate.

• Are you interested in joining the Girls Lacrosse team this coming Spring. Please fill out the google form found on the announcements. Girl's Lacrosse

• Character Ed: The Character Trait of the Month for October is Mindfulness.

  • Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present~~aware of what we are doing and how our body feels.

• Please wear Purple on Wednesdays to represent Mindfulness!

• Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Tennis team.  Message from Coach Papertsian:

I am so proud of our girls varsity tennis team, for their determination and commitment.  These efforts led to the girls to win their division for the third year in a row.  Many of our athletes then qualified and competed in the OCIAA tennis tournament where several of them won to move on to the next round.  On Friday, October 18th, our team fought very hard in defeat in the team tennis tournament held in Monticello.  I wish our six seniors the best of luck in their future endeavors and look forward to coaching the rest of the girls next year!
