• Family ID is now open to register for Winter Sports 

• The indoor track sign-up sheet is posted in room 109. Speak to Coach Wright if you have any questions.

• TODAY:

  • Elmira College will be here (10/18) today at 10:30am. If anyone is interested in Elmira College please stop by the table in front of the auditorium and speak to Mr. Mattocks

  • Senior Portrait Makeup Day by appointment only today on the auditorium stage(8:00AM - 2:00PM).  See Mrs. Schields for details and codes.

• Every Friday in October is Port Pride & Pink at PJHS in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Cancer changes everyone and every family it touches.  Breast cancer is the 2nd most common form of cancer in women in the US.  1 in 8 women will be diagnosed in their lifetimes.  Let's show our support for those who have been affected by cancer, the families that love and care for them, and the medical providers who treat them while we continue to hope for a cure!

• Port Jervis is hosting its annual college fair on Thursday, Oct 20th

Approximately 70 representatives from various colleges and universities will be here. All students are scheduled to attend with their class either period 5 or 6. Most of the student parking lot will be reserved for our guests.  Students who drive to school will need to park in the dirt lot - thank you for your cooperation

• Time is running out for the Early bird special…Yearbooks on sale now…$65 till October 31st…Then the price will go up…Order online or from Mrs.Van Horn in room 104…Forms are also available in the front office. Go To: buytheyearbook.com Enter Code:707739

• ART CLUB  The next Art Club will meet on Thurs. Oct 20 after school in 116. All are welcome. We will decide sign ups for the Elective Fair and do a collaborative project. 2:15-3:30. 

• The Science Olympiad Team meets on Tuesdays in Room 210. Come claim your event or events! First come, first serve. See the list of events on posters in the hallways. Events cover life science, chemistry, earth science, environmental science, physics and engineering. See Mr. Koenig for more details.

• ✈ Bon Voyage Club members, please read the important trip announcement in Google Classroom.  Please also join our remind.com group @pjhsbvc📣

• Beginning Monday, October 24th and ending Sunday, November 6th, students can apply to up to five SUNY campuses with no application fee! This includes all 64 SUNY campuses, no matter which application vehicle the student uses. Students can get details here: www.suny.edu/apply

• Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors: 

Please complete the form on the guidance google classroom if you are interested in taking the ASVAB exam on Saturday, November 5th at 8 AM at Port Jervis High School. What is the ASVAB? The  is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students.

• BOYS BASKETBALL INTRAMURALS: Wednesdays and Thursdays through November, high school boy’s basketball open gyms. Located at the ASK gym. Doors open at 6pm and end at 8pm. Random teams selected, all high school boys invited.

• The Character Trait of the Month for October is MINDFULNESS: Please wear Purple on Wednesdays to represent MINDFULNESS. Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations.

• ATTENTION ALL SENIORS: Parent Ads are due 12/23/22. Senior Siblings, Friends Then & Now, and Baby Pictures are all Due 11/18/22. All pictures and Ads can be handed into Mrs. Van Horn in room 104 or the front office.

• SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY:

Applications are now open for Sobo & Sobo’s Annual Scholarship Contest (2022-2023)! This year, high school seniors who are attending a two or four-year college immediately after graduating are invited to submit a 30 to 60 second video. Applicants are invited to visit Sobolaw.com/Scholarship for more further instructions and details about the scholarship contest, or email the Sobo Scholarship Committee at scholarship@sobolaw.com with any questions or concerns.

• Do you want a quiet place to eat your lunch? The following rooms are available for students to go to during their lunch period. Period 6-room 131, period 7-guidance conference & period 8 room 103.

• DECA School Store Open!!! Come down and check us out!  Hours;  Right after school Mon - Friday 2:15 to 3:30.  See you there!!!

• Any student who will be driving to school needs to come to the AP's office and pick up an application for a parking permit.  If you have previously received one you do not need to apply for a new one.  Please make sure to display your permit in the bottom of your back window on the driver side.  Stop by the Assistant Principal's office and see Mrs. Sauschuck for an application.
