  • PJHS Freshman Orientation tomorrow 5/4/2023 at 6:30pm in the HS Auditorium.

  • Student Council and Class Officer Elections are coming soon! Be sure to check your Guidance Google classroom for upcoming information and fill out a Google Form to express your interest in running for a Class Officer or Student Council Officer position by Wednesday, May 10th, @2:30. See Mrs. Nyland with any questions.

  • NYSPHSAA SCHOLAR-ATHLETE AWARDS SPRING SPORTS 2022-2023: All seven of our spring teams received the NYSPHSAA (New York State Public High School Athletic Association) Team Scholar-Athlete Awards. Please see the link below. The teams are Varsity Baseball, Varsity Girls’ Golf, Varsity Boys’ Golf, Varsity Softball, Varsity Boys’ Tennis, Varsity Girls’ Track, and Varsity Boys’ Track.  Teams with GPA’s 90% and higher, will receive a certificate for the team/school.  Any student athlete with a GPA higher than 90, will also receive a pin. If a team does not meet the Scholar-Athlete team criteria, individual students with a GPA of 90 or above, are considered an individual Scholar-Athlete and will be awarded a pin for their accomplishments.   • Seniors, if you plan on purchasing a Class of 2023 shirt, you must pay $5 to Mrs. Jenkins by this Friday and have filled out the Google Form previously emailed/posted. (Room 130 during 5th, 7th, 8th or 9th period)

  • Girls' Basketball Intramurals will begin on Monday, May 8th from 3:00-4:30 pm in the High School Gym. Intramurals will take place on the following dates: 5/8, 5/9, 5/11, 5/15, 5/16, 5/18, 5/30, 5/31, 6/1, 6/5, 6/6, and 6/8. Any girl interested in attending, please see Mrs. Gunderman in room 201 for an informational flier.

  • Football Cheer Tryouts: Mon. May 22nd- Wed. May 24th from 3pm-5:30pm in the High School Gym. Sign up sheet will be posted on Mr. Gass' Door

  • Powder Puff Cheerleading Practice will be held TODAY outside by the Mods from 2:45-4pm.

• Chemistry Regents Review: All after school review sessions are scheduled to be in room 311, starting at 2:15 and will end when the last student leaves. Come prepared with your practice test, answer sheet, calculator, reference tables, and questions. It is important that you try your best to answer the questions that we are going over before the review session. Note that your teacher also has free periods during the day and will be able to stay after school most Tuesdays and Thursdays. Regents Exams begin on Wednesday, June 14. There will likely be review sessions on June 14, June 15, and June 16. The time and content of those review sessions will be revealed at a later date.

• The next meeting of the PJYC is Monday, May 8th at 2:15pm in room 103.

• The Powder Puff Teams have been created. You will be hearing from your coaches about practices.

• Reminder to all Character Education award recipients:  the school store will be closing on June 2nd this year.  Please redeem your certificate for $2 worth of items at the store OR a slice of pizza (Thursdays) before 6/2!

• The Character Trait for the month of May is Responsibility. Please join us in wearing GREEN on Wednesdays to represent Responsibility. Responsibility - the state or fact of being responsible, answerable, or accountable for something within one’s power, control, or management.

• Seniors - The Guy Perkowski Blue Collar Scholarship, The Matthew O'Brien Memorial Scholarship, and The Masonic War Veterans Beth-El Post #29 Scholarship have all been added to Naviance and your Senior Guidance Google Classroom. Scholarships will continue to be posted as they are received. Please apply!

• FEARLESS! is taking applications for their 12th annual Summer Youth Leadership Academy (SYLA).  The free, in-person week-long program aims to empower students entering grades 9-12 to learn about racism, bullying, gender oppression, the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships, and building solutions for change.

WHEN:  July 24- July 28 |  - Port Jervis Recreational Center, 135 Pike Street 

Students will receive:

• 30 Hours of Community Service, $50 Stipend *new this year, A Letter of Recommendation

She will also collect the applications and send them to Fearless!

• Yearbooks: Yearbooks can no longer be purchased on-line. Bring a check made out to Yearbook or cash for $80 to Mrs. Van Horn in room 104. They are on sale till the end of the school year. 

• Do you want a quiet place to eat your lunch? The following rooms are available for students to go to during their lunch period. Period 6-room 131, period 7-A Day-Auditorium, B Day-guidance conference & period 8 room 103.

• Any student who will be driving to school needs to come to the AP's office and pick up an application for a parking permit.  If you have previously received one you do not need to apply for a new one.  Please make sure to display your permit in the bottom of your back window on the driver side.  Stop by the Assistant Principal's office and see Mrs. Sauschuck for an application.
