Varsity softball beat Sullivan West 16-3 last night. It was a great team effort offensively and Madison Dobbs picked up the win on the mound.
Football Cheerleading sign ups will close on Thursday so please sign up on Mr. Gass' office door ASAP. Tryouts start Monday May 22nd.
The Port Jervis School District Art Department is proud to present the K-12 Art Exhibition at the Port Jervis High School Cafeteria from 6-8pm on May 19, 2023.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices. It is just as important as our physical health!! Check out the PJYC’s bulletin board by the guidance office for some resources! You are NOT alone.
May 23rd will be College Selection Day! Seniors, please wear the college gear or school colors of the school you will be attending this fall. We will be meeting at the flagpole and taking a group picture at 11:20 that day!

PROM: Class of 2023....! Prom tickets are on sale through Wednesday May 24. You can purchase your tickets 6th period outside of the Cafeteria, 8th period from Room 130, 9th from Room 130 or afterschool in Room 130 until 2:30pm. Tickets are $60 per person. Cash or checks written to PJHS Class of 2023 will be accepted. Guests can attend. However, they need prior approval from the administration. Pick up your guest form from the AP's office with Mrs. Sauschuck and have it approved BEFORE you are allowed to purchase tickets. The guest can be a former graduate, out of district guest or a member of the lower grades at PJHS. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Koenig or Mrs. Jenkins.

SENIORS: Come join your class at Villa Roma Resort in Callicoon, NY for a day trip JUNE 1. Enjoy their many amenities and relax with your friends. You will have access to: Unlimited use of bumper boats, go karts, rockwall, bouncy world (inflatables), Zipline and bowling, Indoor sports complex with bocce, shuffleboard, ping pong, Fully equipped fitness centers and volleyball court, basketball court, Outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, Outdoor bocce and shuffleboard courts. BBQ Lunch (included with your ticket): hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, salads, corn on the cob, beans, corn bread, ice tea and lemonade. Bus leaves PJHS at 10:30 and will return at 5:30/6pm. Tickets are $30 and can be paid for at the same location and time as Prom tickets. A permission slip needs to be filled out and returned by May 25. Chemistry Regents Review: All after school review sessions are scheduled to be in room 311, starting at 2:15 and will end when the last student leaves. Come prepared with your practice test, answer sheet, calculator, reference tables, and questions. It is important that you try your best to answer the questions that we are going over before the review session. Note that your teacher also has free periods during the day and will be able to stay after school most Tuesdays and Thursdays. Regents Exams begin on Wednesday, June 14. There will likely be review sessions on June 14, June 15, and June 16. The time and content of those review sessions will be revealed at a later date.
ATTENTION SENIOR ATHLETES: Invitations for the Senior Athlete Awards Banquet were mailed to all Senior Athletes. The banquet will be held on Tuesday, June 13th at 6:00PM at the Erie Trackside. The RSVP and payment are due to be returned to the High School Athletic Department Office by Friday, May 19th. If you did not receive your invitation by mail or need a new form, please stop by and pick one up as soon as possible.
Reminder to all Character Education award recipients: the school store will be closing on June 2nd this year. Please redeem your certificate for $2 worth of items at the store OR a slice of pizza (Thursdays) before 6/2!

The Character Trait for the month of May is Responsibility. Please join us in wearing GREEN on Wednesdays to represent Responsibility. Responsibility - the state or fact of being responsible, answerable, or accountable for something within one’s power, control, or management.
Seniors - The Guy Perkowski Blue Collar Scholarship, The Matthew O'Brien Memorial Scholarship, and The Masonic War Veterans Beth-El Post #29 Scholarship have all been added to Naviance and your Senior Guidance Google Classroom. Scholarships will continue to be posted as they are received. Please apply!
FEARLESS! is taking applications for their 12th annual Summer Youth Leadership Academy (SYLA). The free, in-person week-long program aims to empower students entering grades 9-12 to learn about racism, bullying, gender oppression, the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships, and building solutions for change.

Students will receive:
30 Hours of Community Service, $50 Stipend *new this year, A Letter of Recommendation

Yearbooks: Yearbooks can no longer be purchased on-line. Bring a check made out to Yearbook or cash for $80 to Mrs. Van Horn in room 104. They are on sale till the end of the school year.
Do you want a quiet place to eat your lunch? The following rooms are available for students to go to during their lunch period. Period 6-room 131, period 7-A Day-Auditorium, B Day-guidance conference & period 8 room 103.
Any student who will be driving to school needs to come to the AP's office and pick up an application for a parking permit. If you have previously received one you do not need to apply for a new one. Please make sure to display your permit in the bottom of your back window on the driver side. Stop by the Assistant Principal's office and see Mrs. Sauschuck for an application.
