Women's History Month: Harriet Powers-Harriet Powers was an African American folk artist and quilt maker. She was born into slavery in rural Georgia in 1837. She used traditional appliqué techniques to record local legends, Bible stories, and astronomical events on her quilts. Only two of her quilts are known to have survived: Bible Quilt 1886 and Pictorial Quilt 1898. Both of these quilts are now in museums.

FEARLESS! is taking applications for their 12th annual Summer Youth Leadership Academy (SYLA). The free, in-person week-long program aims to empower students entering grades 9-12 to learn about racism, bullying, gender oppression, the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships, and building solutions for change.
WHEN: July 24- July 28 | - Port Jervis Recreational Center, 135 Pike Street
Students will receive:
30 Hours of Community Service, $50 Stipend *new this year, A Letter of Recommendation

Port Jervis HS seeks a driver for our Super Stock Car in the Soap Box Derby here in Port Jervis on June 11. Registration ends April 1st. See Mr. Koenig for more info.

Do you want a quiet place to eat your lunch? The following rooms are available for students to go to during their lunch period. Period 6-room 131, period 7-A Day-Auditorium, B Day-guidance conference & period 8 room 103.
Any student who will be driving to school needs to come to the AP's office and pick up an application for a parking permit. If you have previously received one you do not need to apply for a new one. Please make sure to display your permit in the bottom of your back window on the driver side. Stop by the Assistant Principal's office and see Mrs. Sauschuck for an application.
