Deadline for your required PJHS Scholarship Application File materials is Wednesday, February 1. If you are planning on participating in the PJHS Scholarship Process, YOU MUST submit the required initial documents for your file by 2/1/23, regardless of the scholarship application deadline date. So if you have not confirmed with Guidance clerical staff yet - be sure that you have successfully submitted your Google Cover Sheet Form, General Application Essay, Activity Resume, 2 Teacher Letters of Rec, any Acceptance/Commitment Letters, and a copy of your Transcript. Those items MUST be submitted by Wednesday 2/1/23 in order to move forward in the PJHS Scholarship process.
Big news in Section IX- Boys Intramural Volleyball is coming! There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, February 2nd in room 209 at 2:15. Dates, expectations, and other information will be covered. Any questions see Coach Stankunas for more information. See sign ups posted on the AD's office, 209, and Boys Locker Room.

Mock Trial is meeting Tuesday (1/31) and Thursday (2/2) after school in room 311. New members are welcome. Any members of the Mock Trial team going on Thursday's field trip need to turn in their permission slips to Mr. Dunleavy or Mrs. West-Barnes.
The PJYC is pinning it forward this week with inspiring messages written on clothes pins. If you get pinned throughout the school day be sure to spread the kindness by pinning it forward, by pinning a new person or you may keep the pin. And be sure to follow us on instagram @portjervis_yc.
Senior Class Officers are selling Gertrude Hawk Candy Bars for $2 a bar. Buy some before they run out.
❤Art Club will hold its annual Valentines for Veterans card making party ❤ this Thursday Feb 2. Valentine themed snacks will be served. Please join us if you have an interest in honoring veterans, and/or making art. The cards will be shared with vets at the Castle Point VA Hospital in Wappingers Falls and additional locations around the district. Now more than ever, it is important for us to come together and celebrate our veterans’ service to our country. Many have been separated from families and friends and a simple friendly greeting goes a long way. 2:15pm-3:30pm in 116.

February is also Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Our community partner, FEARLESS! will be here 2/6-2/9 to present to all students during PE classes on healthy and safe dating relationships and consent. Seniors: If you are participating in the scholarship process you must do the General Application Cover with the essay. Here is the link: https://forms.gle/71yWLN24gHzwj7Wk8. If you haven't done this form, please do it ASAP. Also, make sure you have 2 letters of recommendation, a copy of your activity resume, and any college acceptance letters in your scholarship file in the guidance office.
Senior Portraits/Makeups: Tuesday, Feb 7th between 9-noon is the last call for Senior Portraits or makeups. To schedule an appointment you need to go to www.lorsstudio.com and then to the senior drop-down menu. To log in, you will need your login number and your password/last name to make an appointment. If you have any questions or are unsure of the login number, see Mrs. Schields (Mr. Lazzaro's secretary) for help.
Stock Market Club: Any High School student interested in the stock market or investing; join the Stock Market Club. In this program you will be given $100,000 in virtual money to invest in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. You will be competing with other students in the state to see who can grow their investments the most. We will meet on Tuesdays after school in Room 303 and will run until the middle of May. If you cannot initially attend but are interested, email Mr. Kaufmann at wkaufmann@pjschools.org or use code: 5ucxyyi for the Google classroom. Once added you will receive an email with an username and password for the stock market competition.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY:
The Youth Humanitarian Award in Memory of Stanley Marcus is now available to Juniors and Seniors. This $250 scholarship is for students who display humanitarian principles by word and deed. Do you want a quiet place to eat your lunch? The following rooms are available for students to go to during their lunch period. Period 6-room 131, period 7-A Day-Auditorium, B Day-guidance conference & period 8 room 103.
Any student who will be driving to school needs to come to the AP's office and pick up an application for a parking permit. If you have previously received one you do not need to apply for a new one. Please make sure to display your permit in the bottom of your back window on the driver side. Stop by the Assistant Principal's office and see Mrs. Sauschuck for an application.
