Juniors! We will be meeting after school in room 301 to work on the Semi Formal this week and next week!! Everyone is invited to attend! No artistic talent needed! Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:15 - 5:30pm. Arrive early and stay late or join us after a club or practice! Looking forward to seeing great things being made!
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Our community partner, FEARLESS will be here TODAY 2/9 to present to all students during PE classes on healthy and safe dating relationships and consent. Students, parents and educators are encouraged to check out the free workshops offered by Fearless! during the month of February– here is the link for information and registration
Sophomore information night is scheduled for TONIGHT 9th from 6-7 PM in the HS auditorium. All sophomores and their parents are encouraged to attend this informational meeting. Topics discussed will include CTEC, graduation requirements, summer school, PSAT, SAT, and college planning.
Immediately following the sophomore information session, Orange County STOP DWI & Traffic Safety will be presenting Not One More, a program to raise awareness of teen fatalities and what we can do as a community to make teens safer drivers . We want to educate teens about the dangers they face behind the wheel. Students requesting a parking permit at PJHS are required to attend this session. The program will run from 7-8pm.

Greetings Seniors! The 8th Annual Prom Dress Extravaganza will be held on Sunday, March 19th and Sunday, March 26th from 12 Noon to 4 PM at Temple Sinai, 75 Highland Avenue, Middletown NY. High School students are invited to attend and choose a Free Prom Dress to take home. There is also no cost to attend this event. They will have a choice from a large selection of Prom Dresses,including long formal and short cocktail dresses. Young men’s suits and accessories will also be available. Lunch and snacks will be available provided by the Temple Sinai Men’s Club.

February's Character Trait of the Month is RESPECT! PJHS radiates respect! From 2/6 to 3/10, the PJYC is looking for people who show respect. If you see someone demonstrate it, nominate them! Scan the QR code to get the nomination form. This can be found on the bulletin board by the guidance office, or on fliers around the school. Nominate your friends and staff! By doing this, their names will be entered into a raffle drawing for a prize! Lastly, remember- if you see respect, report it! (follow us on Instagram @portjervis_yc)
Stock Market Club: Any High School student interested in the stock market or investing; join the Stock Market Club. In this program you will be given $100,000 in virtual money to invest in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. You will be competing with other students in the state to see who can grow their investments the most. We will meet on Tuesdays after school in Room 303 and will run until the middle of May. If you cannot initially attend but are interested, email Mr. Kaufmann at wkaufmann@pjschools.org or use code: 5ucxyyi for the Google classroom. Once added you will receive an email with an username and password for the stock market competition.

Do you want a quiet place to eat your lunch? The following rooms are available for students to go to during their lunch period. Period 6-room 131, period 7-A Day-Auditorium, B Day-guidance conference & period 8 room 103.
Any student who will be driving to school needs to come to the AP's office and pick up an application for a parking permit. If you have previously received one you do not need to apply for a new one. Please make sure to display your permit in the bottom of your back window on the driver side. Stop by the Assistant Principal's office and see Mrs. Sauschuck for an application.
