• SPORTS: Girls JV Basketball HOME vs. Burke 5:15pm, Girls Varsity Basketball HOME vs. Burke 6:45pm, Boys JV Basketball Consolation AWAY @ Golden Hill Elementary School 5pm (championship at 6:45pm if they win), Boys Varsity Consolation AWAY @ SS Seward 5pm (championship at 6:45pm if they win), Varsity Indoor Track AWAY @ West Point 6pm. SATURDAY: Varsity Wrestling Tournament HOME vs. Pine Bush 9am

• TODAY: 

  • The Library is closed today periods 5 & 6.

  • There may be a spot on the Ski & Snowboard Club bus opening up. If Interested see Mr. Kowal ASAP. The last day to purchase a package is next Thursday 12/15.

  • Congratulations to yesterday's 12 Day of Cases winners: Jocelyn Decker, Ivan Figueroa, Evan Dahlquist, Jaren Rodriguez, and Crystie Ramos for being the first 5 to identify the correct suspect! See the Naughty or Nice list on 209 to see how you did & solve today's case!!

• WEEKLY HAPPENINGS:

  • Daily: 

    • DECA School Store Open!!! Come down and check us out!  Hours;  Right after school Mon - Friday 2:15 to 3:30.  See you there!!! Pizza Thursday  $2.50 per slice.

    • 12 Days of Cases: Each day will feature a new case, read all the details, solve the case, and send your answer in via the QR code. The first 5 to solve the day's case will get a prize. 

  • Tuesday:

    • Living Environment Enrichment will be held after school from 2:30 - 3:30 in room 206 for students planning on taking the LE regents in January. See Mrs. Robinson if you have any questions.

    • Science Olympiad Team! Room 210. Come claim your event or events! First come, first serve.    Events cover life science, chemistry, earth science, environmental science, physics and engineering. See Mr. Koenig or your science teacher for more details.

  • Wednesday:

    • Chess Club!  Room 311 every Wednesday to partake in one of the world's oldest and greatest games.

    • Living Environment Enrichment will be held after school from 2:30 - 3:30 in room 206 for students planning on taking the LE regents in January. See Mrs. Robinson if you have any questions.

• On behalf of the Town of Deerpark Lions and Freshman Forum classes, we will have a donation bin for the holidays between Thursday 12/8-Thursday 12/15. Donations include, but are not limited to: toys, mittens, gloves, socks, books, and toiletries. The bin will be located in the guidance office.

• The Character Trait of the Month for December is TOLERANCE.  Tolerance is the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.  Wear YELLOW on Wednesdays in December to represent Tolerance!

• Junior Class Officers: There will be a meeting next Wednesday (12/14)  to start planning this year's semi-formal.

• The Art Club will meet next Thursday 12/15, after school.  We are planning a spring trip to Greenwich Village in NYC and will create a holiday project. Ms. Maloney 116

• ATTENTION SENIORS: 

  • Please bring a copy of your 2 letters of recommendation, your resume, and any college acceptance letters to the guidance office for your scholarship packets.  Scholarship packet lists will go in the mail the week of Christmas break.

  • Seniors, check your email for the link to order your CAP & GOWN and how you would like your name to appear on your diploma. The deadline is Jan 9th.  The $10 payment may be made in cash to Mrs. Schileds at any time prior to March 1st.

  • Parent Ads are DUE 12/23/22.  All pictures and Ads can be handed into Mrs. Van Horn in room 104 or the front office.

• The next meeting of the PJYC (Port Jervis Youth Coalition) is Monday, 12/19 at 2:15pm in room 103

• Are you an adventurous student? Do you like snow, skiing, snowshoeing, and exploring new ecosystems, are you an upper level science student? If so, the Winter Ecology Trip is for you! Dates are: 1/24-1/28 and permission slips and itineraries are posted outside of room 209.   Deposits and permission slips will be accepted until the trip is full. See Mrs. Stankunas if you have any questions.

• SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY:

  • NYS PTA Jenkins Memorial Scholarship application for HS Seniors who will pursue a degree in education is now available on the NYS PTA website. https://nyspta.org/home/pta-leaders/awards-and-recognitions/jenkins-scholarship/ All applications must be postmarked or submitted electronically by DEC. 15, 2022.

  • The Youth Humanitarian Award in Memory of Stanley Marcus is now available to Juniors and Seniors. This $250 scholarship is for students who display humanitarian principles by word and deed.  Mailed applications must be postmarked by Jan. 31, 2023.  Please see the link: https://nyspta.org/home/pta-leaders/awards-and-recognitions/youth-humanitarian-award/

• Do you want a quiet place to eat your lunch? The following rooms are available for students to go to during their lunch period. Period 6-room 131, period 7-A Day-Auditorium, B Day-guidance conference & period 8 room 103.

• Any student who will be driving to school needs to come to the AP's office and pick up an application for a parking permit.  If you have previously received one you do not need to apply for a new one.  Please make sure to display your permit in the bottom of your back window on the driver side.  Stop by the Assistant Principal's office and see Mrs. Sauschuck for an application.
