Art Club is canceled for today. We will meet next Thursday 12/15, after school. We are planning a spring trip to Greenwich Village in NYC and will create a holiday project. Ms. Maloney 116
Spanish and French Students! You are welcome to join our international tour this April. Please come to the informational meeting today in Mod 4 at 2:30pm to learn more about our trip to Quebec City. If you can't make it, please email Madame Bransfield sbransfield@pjschools.org.
If interested in participating in the Step Team this winter please meet in room 132 after school today.
On behalf of the Town of Deerpark Lions and Freshman Forum classes, we will have a donation bin for the holidays between Thursday 12/8-Thursday 12/15. Donations include, but are not limited to: toys, mittens, gloves, socks, books, and toiletries. The bin will be located in the guidance office.
Starting today, stop by Room 209 to participate in the 12 Days of Cases. Each day will feature a new case, read all the details, solve the case, and send your answer in via the QR code. The first 5 to solve the day's case will get a prize.
Mock Trial is meeting after school today (12/8) to break down this year's electrifying case. We are still looking for new members. If interested see Mr. Dunleavy or Mrs. West-Barnes, or stop by room 311 after school.
Juniors: Your Gertrude Hawk orders are in. You may begin picking them up from Room 311 starting period 4 today.
The Character Trait of the Month for December is TOLERANCE. Tolerance is the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with. Wear YELLOW on Wednesdays in December to represent Tolerance!

Junior Class Officers: There will be a meeting next Wednesday (12/14) to start planning this year's semi-formal.
Attention Seniors: Please bring a copy of your 2 letters of recommendation, your resume, and any college acceptance letters to the guidance office for your scholarship packets. Scholarship packet lists will go in the mail the week of Christmas break.
Seniors, check your email for the link to order your CAP & GOWN and how you would like your name to appear on your diploma. The deadline is Jan 9th. The $10 payment may be made in cash to Mrs. Schileds at any time prior to March 1st.

Come out for Chess Club! Stop by room 311 every Wednesday to partake in one of the world's oldest and greatest games.
Living Environment Enrichment will be held after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:30 - 3:30 for students planning on taking the LE regents in January. We will meet in room 206. See Mrs. Robinson if you have any questions.
The Science Olympiad Team meets on Tuesdays in Room 210. Come claim your event or events! First come, first serve. Events cover life science, chemistry, earth science, environmental science, physics and engineering. See Mr. Koenig or your science teacher for more details.

Are you an adventurous student? Do you like snow, skiing, snowshoeing, and exploring new ecosystems, are you an upper level science student? If so, the Winter Ecology Trip is for you! Dates are: 1/24-1/28 and permission slips and itineraries are posted outside of room 209. Deposits and permission slips will be accepted until the trip is full. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY:
NYS PTA Jenkins Memorial Scholarship application for HS Seniors who will pursue a degree in education is now available on the NYS PTA website. https://nyspta.org/home/pta-leaders/awards-and-recognitions/jenkins-scholarship/ All applications must be postmarked or submitted electronically by DEC. 15, 2022.
The Youth Humanitarian Award in Memory of Stanley Marcus is now available to Juniors and Seniors. This $250 scholarship is for students who display humanitarian principles by word and deed. Any student who will be driving to school needs to come to the AP's office and pick up an application for a parking permit. If you have previously received one you do not need to apply for a new one. Please make sure to display your permit in the bottom of your back window on the driver side. Stop by the Assistant Principal's office and see Mrs. Sauschuck for an application.
