• SPORTS: Varsity Wrestling Match HOME vs. Burke 6pm

• TODAY:

  • History Event of the Day, December 7, 1941: Japanese attack Pearl Harbor pulling the U.S. into WWII.

  • On behalf of the Town of Deerpark Lions and Freshman Forum classes, we will have a donation bin for the holidays between Thursday 12/8-Thursday 12/15? Donations include, but are not limited to: toys, mittens, gloves, socks, books, and toiletries. The bin will be located in the guidance office.

  • Living Environment Enrichment will be held after school today from 2:30 - 3:30 for students planning on taking the LE regents in January.  We will meet in room 206.  See Mrs. Robinson if you have any questions

  • Gaming Club & eSports will be meeting today after school.

  • Come out for Chess Club! Stop by room 311 to partake in one of the world's oldest and greatest games.

• TOMORROW:

  • Spanish and French Students! You are welcome to join our international tour this April.  Please come to the informational meeting this Thursday, December 7, in Mod 4 at 2:30pm to learn more about our trip to Quebec City.  If you can't make it, please email Madame Bransfield sbransfield@pjschools.org.

  • If interested in participating in the Step Team this winter please meet in room 132 after school this Thursday!

• The Character Trait of the Month for December is TOLERANCE.  Tolerance is the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.  Wear YELLOW on Wednesdays in December to represent Tolerance!

• Starting on Thursday, December 8th stop by Room 209 to participate in the 12 Days of Cases. Each day will feature a new case, read all the details, solve the case, and send your answer in via the QR code. The first 5 to solve the day's case will get a prize.

• Attention Seniors: Please bring a copy of your 2 letters of recommendation, your resume, and any college acceptance letters to the guidance office for your scholarship packets.  Scholarship packet lists will go in the mail the week of Christmas break.

• Seniors, check your email for the link to order your CAP & GOWN and how you would like your name to appear on your diploma. The deadline is Jan 9th.  The $10 payment may be made in cash to Mrs. Schileds at anytime prior to March 1st.

• The next meeting of the PJYC (Port Jervis Youth Coalition) is Monday, 12/19 at 2:15pm in room 103

• The Science Olympiad Team meets on Tuesdays in Room 210.     Come claim your event or events!    First come, first serve.    Events cover life science, chemistry, earth science, environmental science, physics and engineering.  See Mr. Koenig or your science teacher for more details.

• ATTENTION ALL SENIORS:  Parent Ads are DUE 12/23/22.  All pictures and Ads can be handed into Mrs. Van Horn in room 104 or the front office.

• Are you an adventurous student? Do you like snow, skiing, snowshoeing, and exploring new ecosystems, are you an upper level science student? If so, the Winter Ecology Trip is for you! Dates are: 1/24-1/28 and permission slips and itineraries are posted outside of room 209.   Deposits and permission slips will be accepted until the trip is full. See Mrs. Stankunas if you have any questions.

• SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY:

  • NYS PTA Jenkins Memorial Scholarship application for HS Seniors who will pursue a degree in education is now available on the NYS PTA website. https://nyspta.org/home/pta-leaders/awards-and-recognitions/jenkins-scholarship/ All applications must be postmarked or submitted electronically by DEC. 15, 2022.

  • The Youth Humanitarian Award in Memory of Stanley Marcus is now available to Juniors and Seniors. • Do you want a quiet place to eat your lunch? The following rooms are available for students to go to during their lunch period. Period 6-room 131, period 7-A Day-Auditorium, B Day-guidance conference & period 8 room 103.

• DECA School Store Open!!! Come down and check us out!  Hours;  Right after school Mon - Friday 2:15 to 3:30.  See you there!!! Pizza Thursday  $2.50 per slice.

• Any student who will be driving to school needs to come to the AP's office and pick up an application for a parking permit.  If you have previously received one you do not need to apply for a new one.  Please make sure to display your permit in the bottom of your back window on the driver side.  Stop by the Assistant Principal's office and see Mrs. Sauschuck for an application.
