• TODAY: 

  • Congratulations to Friday's 12 Days of Cases winners: Gabe Torres, Sydney McCoy, Tyler Howard, Ivan Figeroa, and Katrina Kranik for being the first 5 to identify the correct suspect! See the Naughty or Nice list on 209 to see how you did & solve today's case!!

  • Art Club will meet TODAY, Tuesday 12/13 to decorate our door.  Sip and decorate until 3:30. Enjoy cookies, and drinks while we work. Ms. Maloney 116.

  • 12 Days of Cases: On the 3rd Day of Cases Abby Straebler, Mason Oldham, Gabe Torres, Sydney McCoy, and Crysti Ramos were the first 5 to solve and will get a prize! Make sure you stop up at 209 to partake in today's case!

• WEEKLY HAPPENINGS:

  • Daily: 

    • DECA School Store Open!!! Come down and check us out!  Hours;  Right after school Mon - Friday 2:15 to 3:30.  See you there!!! Pizza Thursday  $2.50 per slice.

    • 12 Days of Cases: Each day will feature a new case, read all the details, solve the case, and send your answer in via the QR code. The first 5 to solve the day's case will get a prize. 

  • Monday:

    • Math Enrichment will be held in room 208

    • Social Studies Enrichment will be held in room 108

  • Tuesday:

    • Math Enrichment will be held in room 105

    • Living Environment Enrichment will be held in room 206 after school from 2:30 - 3:30 

    • Science Olympiad Team! Room 210. Come claim your event or events! First come, first serve.    Events cover life science, chemistry, earth science, environmental science, physics and engineering. See Mr. Koenig or your science teacher for more details.

  • Wednesday:

    • Math Enrichment will be held in room 105

    • Chess Club!  Room 311 every Wednesday to partake in one of the world's oldest and greatest games.

    • Living Environment Enrichment will be held in room 206 after school from 2:30 - 3:30

  • Thursday:

    • Math Enrichment will be held in rooms 106/107

    • Social Studies Enrichment will be held in room 108

• Attention French and Spanish students: The Société Honoraire de Français is excited to announce our Bûche de Noël event! The Bûche de Noël is a traditional French yule log cake and on December 21st we will be judging who has the best decorated bûche! We are inviting all French and Spanish students to enter this event! Want to enter? Teams of up to 4 language students are welcome to bake, decorate, and enter the contest. Please complete this Form by Friday, December 16. For more information, speak to any French Honor Society member or Madame Bransfield.

•  On behalf of the Town of Deerpark Lions and Freshman Forum classes, we will have a donation bin for the holidays between Thursday 12/8-Thursday 12/15. Donations include, but are not limited to: toys, mittens, gloves, socks, books, and toiletries. The bin will be located in the guidance office.

• The Character Trait of the Month for December is TOLERANCE.  Tolerance is the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.  Wear YELLOW on Wednesdays in December to represent Tolerance!

• Junior Class Officers: There will be a meeting next Wednesday (12/14)  to start planning this year's semi-formal.

• The Art Club will meet next Thursday 12/15, after school.  We are planning a spring trip to Greenwich Village in NYC and will create a holiday project. Ms. Maloney 116

• ATTENTION SENIORS: 

  • Please bring a copy of your 2 letters of recommendation, your resume, and any college acceptance letters to the guidance office for your scholarship packets.  Scholarship packet lists will go in the mail the week of Christmas break.

  • Seniors, check your email for the link to order your CAP & GOWN and how you would like your name to appear on your diploma. The deadline is Jan 9th.  The $10 payment may be made in cash to Mrs. Schileds at any time prior to March 1st.

  • Parent Ads are DUE 12/23/22.  All pictures and Ads can be handed into Mrs. Van Horn in room 104 or the front office.

• The next meeting of the PJYC (Port Jervis Youth Coalition) is Monday, 12/19 at 2:15pm in room 103

• Are you an adventurous student? Do you like snow, skiing, snowshoeing, and exploring new ecosystems, are you an upper level science student? If so, the Winter Ecology Trip is for you! Dates are: 1/24-1/28 and permission slips and itineraries are posted outside of room 209.   Deposits and permission slips will be accepted until the trip is full. See Mrs. Stankunas if you have any questions.

• SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY:

  • NYS PTA Jenkins Memorial Scholarship application for HS Seniors who will pursue a degree in education is now available on the NYS PTA website. https://nyspta.org/home/pta-leaders/awards-and-recognitions/jenkins-scholarship/ All applications must be postmarked or submitted electronically by DEC. 15, 2022.

  • The Youth Humanitarian Award in Memory of Stanley Marcus is now available to Juniors and Seniors. This $250 scholarship is for students who display humanitarian principles by word and deed.  Mailed applications must be postmarked by Jan. 31, 2023.  Please see the link: https://nyspta.org/home/pta-leaders/awards-and-recognitions/youth-humanitarian-award/

• Do you want a quiet place to eat your lunch? The following rooms are available for students to go to during their lunch period. Period 6-room 131, period 7-A Day-Auditorium, B Day-guidance conference & period 8 room 103.

• Any student who will be driving to school needs to come to the AP's office and pick up an application for a parking permit.  If you have previously received one you do not need to apply for a new one.  Please make sure to display your permit in the bottom of your back window on the driver side.  Stop by the Assistant Principal's office and see Mrs. Sauschuck for an application.
