A Little About

Mrs. Covely

I have been teaching in Pitman for 20 years and this is my 35th year altogether. I have spent 29 years in fourth grade, 3 years in third grade and 3 in first grade. I’ve lived in for Pitman 32 years, but I am originally from Wenonah. I graduated from Gateway High School (a long time ago), and my husband (John) teaches at Gateway- 7th & 8th Grade Social Studies

I have four children. My oldest, Sean, graduated as an Engineer from The College of New Jersey in 2012. My daughter, MaryKate, graduated in 2014 with a degree in Special Education & Elementary Education; she is presently working in Mantua Twp schools. My son, Tyler, is a police officer, and my youngest, Brennen, graduated as a Biomedical Engineer from Rowan University. Yes, they keep me busy!! :D

I enjoy teaching immensely. I believe in being the teacher that I would want my own children to have. I'm constantly researching new, innovative ways to make teaching meaningful and fun. With that in mind, technology is used often in my classroom. I have been the Technology Coordinator for Walls School in past years and have participated on various Curriculum Committees in the district.

I have enjoyed my years teaching at Walls School. I believe in encouraging my students to take ownership over their learning while parents and teachers set clear expectations and give the help that is needed along the way. It is always a wonderful experience getting to know a new class, and I'm always sad to say goodbye in June. I appreciate your support, and always anticipate another great year at WCK Walls!
