Mrs. Smith's Review:
What an interesting read! I actually learned a lot from reading this tale about a young girl with "phossy jaw" (a condition caused by working with white phosphorus in a matchstick factory) who is a maid to John Merrick, the Elephant Man. They become fast friends and work together to solve the mystery of multiple hauntings by Leather Apron's victims. I love the dark Victorian vibes! It delves into murders, working conditions, class divides, women's rights and freedoms, and more. This slim book was PACKED with interesting facts and things to think about. I highly recommend it!Β
