Annotating

Some helpful hints about annotating:

• Underline or highlight

• tabs are great 

• create a key with symbols

• talk to the text, react to it

• write in the margins

• use sticky notes

Mark:

• confusing

• interesting

Technique:

• highlight

• underline

• circle (words or concepts you don't know)

• draw arrows 

• connect with lines (key ideas)

• brackets for larger passages

• write questions, notes, comments in the margins - your thoughts
