Our Tanzanian School Link
All about our link with Tanzania:
The Pinvin Federation of Schools and Himbleton First School are linked to Misufini B school in Morogoro, Tanzania.
Our pupils in the three schools have raised funds through a range of exciting activities: non-school uniform days, 'Bake Off' competitions and 'Match Box' challenges to help support our link . The money raised has been used to purchase teaching resources for the School in Morogoro and it also funded the very exciting visit from Mrs Tarimo, the Head Teacher of Misufini B, to visit us last year and to teach with us. The children in our schools have exchanged letters and school work, and each group of pupils have benefited from the experiences of having a Teacher teach them from a very different cultural background to their own. This link celebrates our values and ethos as a Christian school and drives forward our development of Character Education for all our Pupils.
Miss Rushton will be visiting Morogoro in Tanzania to teach there, over October half Term, and she has also raised funds alongside that raised by the pupils this year to help paint the school through sponsored events such as an abseil over a cliff edge and an 10k obstacle race. She will be keeping Staff, Pupils and Parents up-to-date with our latest adventure through the online blog page found here, entitled 'Miss Rushton meets Morogoro'. Miss Rushton will also be taking extra luggage with her filled with stationery and basic medical equipment kindly donated by the staff and children.
Thank you to all Staff, Pupils, Parents and Carers for your continued support of our link with our School in Morogoro.
