Uniform Reminders 👔
Student uniforms (other than scooters and dresses) require a solid black belt (or the approved plaid belt for girls). Please remind and practice the following steps with your child:
1. After using the bathroom, TUCK the shirt into your shorts/pants first.
2. Zip and button shorts/pants after tucking the shirt in all the way around.
3. Buckle your belt last. Thank you so much for your support!
More Uniform Information
Hooded clothing cannot be worn inside the building at any time.
Outerwear items (without a hood) must be solid red/black/white OR a combination of those colors and can be worn inside the building if they are embroidered with our school logo. Items that are not embroidered are not approved for daily classroom wear throughout the school day and must be removed when inside the building.
Students cannot wear clogs, mules or boots.
Students must wear socks daily. They can be solid white, solid red, solid black or white with school plaid trim. A small logo is permitted, not to exceed 1".
Solid red, solid white or solid black tights only can be worn under skorts or dresses.
Solid black leggings can be worn under skorts or dresses.
Important Snack and Lunch Information 🥪
MORNING SNACK: In order to help students avoid confusing lunch and snack items, please place a morning snack in the small front zipper pocket of your child’s backpack (instead of in his/her lunchbox with lunch items). Please show your child where to find his/her morning snack.
We have also found that reusable water bottles are less likely to spill and much easier for your child to identify. Please send a labeled reusable water bottle with your child each day!
Lunch begins at 11:45am and ends at 12:15pm. If you come to eat with your child you will check in the front office and then come by the classroom to pick them up and you can eat in the gym together.
Have students ready in the morning with backpacks and lunchboxes ready to exit the vehicle on the driver's side to the sidewalk.
HOMEWORK 📝
Homework packets will be sent home the first day of each week. Students will be expected to complete these and should be returned in your child’s homework folder each Friday (or on Thursday if we are out on Friday). Your child will receive a grade based on the completion of the homework packet.
Please plan to assist your child with homework by checking to be sure it is complete, neat and correct. Please plan to read to/with your child for 10 minutes each night.
All communication to and from home should be through email, or phone call. Please check your email daily.
A separate folder will be sent home every Tuesday with your child’s graded work (Take Home Tuesday Folder). Please sign the log inside of the folder and return the folder and work by Friday. This folder will not be sent home during the first few weeks of school.
Afternoon Dismissal 🎒
Car riders will be dismissed from the classroom starting at 2:45pm. Please be patient with us and your child as we teach then this new routine. We promise to do our best to minimize any inconvenience! Please make sure that your child’s car tag is visible.
**If you need to buckle your child or strap them into a car seat, please pull to the grass to complete. Thank you!
It is important to send a written note and/or call the school office before 11:45am if there is a change in the way that your child will be going home. We want to be sure that we send them safely to the correct place.
