Weekly Updates and Reminders - 9/8/2023

1. Friday, September 15 is College T-Shirt Day. Wear jeans and represent your favorite college with a t-shirt. Students are required to wear jeans or uniform bottoms on fundraiser/college t-shirt dress down days. Jeans may not have holes or tears (regardless of patches or leggings underneath.) Uniform shoes must be worn. Homeroom teachers will send students to the clothing closet to change into a school uniform if they are not dressed according to the outlined specifications. Repeated violations will result in disciplinary consequences. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
   
   

2. Progress reports will go home on Friday, September 15.
   
   

3. For the safety of our students and staff during drop off and pick up:

   • Follow the flow of traffic.

   • Do not cut through the student parking area.

   • Do not use your cell phone while in the line.
     
     

4. Juniors and seniors are going on a field trip to Atlanta, GA Monday, November 20 through Tuesday, November 21. Students received permission slips and the tentative itinerary on August 31 (also attached bel0w.) Cost for the trip is $165.00. Signed permission slips along with the first payment of $100.00 are due by September 20. The final payment of $65.00 is due by October 19. Please contact your student’s homeroom teacher if you have any questions.
   
   

5. Save the Date: Homecoming Dance 2023 will be on Saturday, December 2 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Twin Lakes. See Mrs. Fouts to purchase tickets: $20.00 through October 31, $30.00 after that date. See the attached flyer for more information.
   
   

6. Senior yearbook ads for the 2023-24 yearbook will be accepted through December 8, 2023. Please see the attached order form for more information.

8. Fall Sports: Due to unforeseen delays in the arrival of some of our fall athletic uniforms, we regret to inform you that the fall sports photo session originally planned for next Saturday (9/9/23) has been CANCELED. We assure you that as soon as all uniforms are in our possession, we will swiftly reschedule the photo session. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.

10. The Balfour representative will be here on Monday, September 18 for Senior Cap, Gown, and Diploma orders and Class Ring orders. 11. Mrs. Welch and Mrs. Boone are using the NumWorks graphing calculator in their classes this year. While we do have class sets for use in the classroom, some students may be interested in purchasing a calculator for personal use. Any PCA student may purchase a calculator through a special program at the discounted price of $89.99. The deadline to order is September 15. Please see the attached flyer for more information. 12. Dress Code Reminder: Make sure students are following the school dress code. Please remember that students may not wear hoodies or hooded jackets inside the building at any time.  Please make sure that all student clothing, including jackets, coats, shoes, and socks, conforms to the dress code. Please refer to the school  website or see the attachment below for guidelines. If violations occur, teachers/staff will issue a written notice of uniform violation that must be signed by the parent and returned to the school.
    
    

13. Please park only in the designated “15 Minute Parking” spots in front of the school when visiting. If spots are unavailable or your visit will be longer than 15 minutes, please park in the visitor parking lot.
    
    

14. Cell phones and all other personal electronic devices (including but not limited to smartwatches, MP3 players, personal computers/laptops, video games, tablets, etc.) are NOT allowed at school during the school day including during dismissal. Any personal electronic device found during the day will be confiscated. Refer to the school website for the full technology policy.

15. Please make sure you are checking grades and attendance in PowerSchool. If you do not have access to PowerSchool, please contact Mrs. Deaton at adeaton@pinnacleclassicalacademy.com.
