THIRD GRADE PUMPKIN CONTEST

Pikeland Community School library will hold their annual 3rd grade pumpkin contest on the week of Oct. 22 through Oct. 26. Any interested 3rd grader may enter the contest by bringing a decorated pumpkin to the library on Monday, Oct. 22 through Wednesday, Oct. 24. Students and faculty will vote for their favorite pumpkins on Thursday, Oct. 25. The winners will be announced on Friday morning, Oct. 26. All pumpkins should be taken home that day.

The pumpkins should be decorated or painted but not carved. The pumpkins will rot even if only pins are poked in them. Please don’t enter pumpkins that are sold already decorated and no names please. Each pumpkin gets a number.

We are looking forward to seeing your pumpkins!

D-POD

HOMEWORK HEADQUARTERS

Homework Headquarters is from 3:30pm-4:30 pm and open to ALL D-pod students (6-8). Those who need a quiet place to do their assignments, would like to have help with their assignments, or just want to get the majority of the work done before they go home are encouraged to attend.

*5th grade band lessons will start the week of Monday, September 24th. Students must have instruments, books and materials by this time. The lesson schedule is on Mrs. Bangert's plan book on the PCS website.

*REMINDER: Each time your student is absent or late, we must have a physical note for the missed time to be considered excused.

*There is a lost Kindle Fire that needs to find its home! Please let the PCS office or Miss Jolene know if you have found one. It originally had a green case. The Kindle itself is blue. Keep your eyes out for the lost Kindle. Thank you!

Important information regarding breakfast and lunch accounts

Pikeland Families: Due to some changes in the Federal Hot Lunch Program, we are no longer able to send a red notification ticket home with your child when he/she needs money on his or her lunch account. We will continue to notify you by email and regular mail each Wednesday if your child owes $5.00 or more in lunch payments. You may view your child’s lunch account balance anytime through TeacherEase. If you do not have access to TeacherEase, please call the school office at 217-285-9462 and ask to be entered into the system. You will then be sent an email with a password you can use to access the site at www.teacherease.com. As always, you can fill out a free/reduced lunch application anytime during the year if you feel your family qualifies.

How to use TeacherEase to view your child’s lunch account.

You must provide the school with an e-mail address. Once the e-mail is entered into the system you will received an e-mail from us regarding a site called schoolinsight.com. This site will show your e-mail address and have a four digit password number. If you go to schooinsight.com – put in your e-mail address and your four digit password it will open the school web site and show you information regarding just your children. Such as Friday Notes, assignments, lunch menus and lunch account balances. All the parents that use this really like it. If you have any problems with getting onto this site please call and we will walk you through it.

To view your child’s lunch account on TeacherEase.com, please follow the following steps.

After logging in at the top next to the Student/Parent portal there are 3 lines.
